Summary: Common Sense = Vital Work
Review: Neil Anderson, with this work, provides a road map for victory in your life. This book is a no-nonsense text that demands attention and reaction. You cannot read this book and not be affected in some way. This book reads like a manual for winning during a life as a Christ-follower.

My suggestion is, if you want to find victory in your life in areas that you consistently struggle, read this book and have someone hold you accountable to following through what Neil Anderson recommends. You will be happy you did.

Summary: A must read for all Christians
Review: OK, I want to start this review by addressing two others who gave this book a low rating. First of all, there was someone who said to be careful because this book shouldn't be used by people of other religions....I have to wonder if that guy even read this book at all. I don't know how many times it refers to Christ and Christians. I find it very difficult to believe that a Buddhist is going to sit there contemplating their identity in Christ. Thats just nonsense.

Second of all...there is a reviewer "Paul Jackson" who says to be careful with this book because is calls Christians "saints". I have to point out to you all that this man is out of line with the word of God when he said.....

"The book asserts multiple times that a Christian is not a sinner saved by grace, but rather, a saint who sometimes sins. That's a scary proposition to make in light of the truth that all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. No man is a saint: we are all sinners who need God's grace and suffiency to overcome the worldly power than sin holds on us. Without this transendant grace, we would stand no hope for the victory that Dr. Anderson discusses."

This is not only a poor understanding of biblical truth but it is flat out false doctrine. The majority of new testament epistles refer to Christians as saints. To state that this is not so and that no man is a saint is to say the Word of God is wrong. This is simply not the case. Paul tells us in romans that when we come to believe in Christ, it is no longer we who sin, but sin working in us. Please Christians, refer to your bibles before believing anything like what this man says.

Now, as far as this book goes. I agree, this book is no easy quick fix for anybody, but it contains life-transforming truths straight out of Gods word and onto these pages. He has referenced all of his major theological assertions with scripture and I have found all his ideas to be in harmony with the scriptural context of the verses. I especially love the lists he makes of identity statements from scripture. In fact, I liked them so much, I printed my favorites and stuck them around the apartment to remind myself of who I am in Christ.....a saint, a new creation in Christ, no longer a sinner.

God bless and may TRUTH reign over your life

Summary: Awesome! A must read for EVERY Christian.
Review: Outstanding! This book truly DOES show the reader how to have victory in life. And how to get that victory without hurting or violating others. This book deals powerfully with interpersonal relationships. It provided me with the tools, and the wisdom, to get a "grip" on things that I have never been able to obtain victory over, despite VALIANT efforts. Such valiant efforts included the in-depth study of 18 novel length books on inter-personal relationships, plus THREE professional courses on people-skills, one of which was personally administered to me by a professionally licensed counsellor. Only this book put the icing on the cake, inspiring a new confidence to carry on, re-trying my friendships.

Summary: Victory over the Darkness gave me a fresh look....
Review: This book beautifully illustrates the concept of our identity in Christ. When I read it, it opened a LOT of doors to understanding the theology that I believe is essential for every Christian to live a full and meaningful life. In fact, I credit this book with a paradigm shift in my understanding and interaction with God.

I encourage you to take a gander...

Summary: A must read for any Christian.
Review: This book honestly changed my life. I have been a Christian for 6 years, but have not been walking in the Victory that Christ died for me to have. Are you struggling with fear, doubts, self-condemnation? Whatever your struggle, read this book, and Anderson will take you on a journey to find how to fulfill your destiny by living in VICTORY! This is not a self-help book, it simply points out biblical truths that we so often overlook.

Summary: AWESOME!!!
Review: This book is a must for anyone looking to others to find their own identity. The author lays the ground work for looking to Christ alone and than presents actual examples he has expereinced. This book has helped me to better understand Jesus Christ in me and me in Him. I couldn't put the book down.

Summary: Steers a sane course in the area of spiritual warfare
Review: This book is one of the few that steers a sane couse in the area of spiritual warfare. It is best read alongside The Bondage Breaker (see my review) by the same author. I would agree with the reviewer that admonishes the reader to read carefully, not so you catch Anderson's supposed mistakes (I don't believe he is mistaken), but so you get Anderson's points. Many who attack his works take him out of context and misinterpret his statements. Be careful or you may do the same (it's easy to do).

Summary: Changed my life
Review: This book should be read by everyone in the world. It is easy reading and you will find out more about yourself than ever before. It is positive and enlightening. I am not a person who likes to read, but I read this book in 5 days. I could not put it down nor wanted to.
I believe you also need to use the study guide in order to understand yourself and how to become more like Christ.
God had his hand on the man who wrote the book. I am in Bible College and this is our secondary main source (bible is main), truly it has made me understand why my life was the way it was and how it is to be.
I have purchased 6 more for others to read. Everytime I find someone who needs assistance I buy the book for them or give the references as to where to purchase it.
The price is reasonable and the benefit is a blessing.
The cost of time to read is no more than watching a week's worth of television.
God has a blessing for you through this book.
Hope you enjoy all the blessing of having a Victory over the Darkness.
