Summary: The most solid explaination for the existance of evil
Review: As a person who believes in the many saints who give highly detailed accounts and descriptions of demons, discarnates, and fallen angels (Padre Pio -physically beaten as others watched, Sri Aurobindo -broken leg while alone in a room trying to write a book, Paramahansa Yogananda -said, "go away" to devils and turned over on his other side trying to fall asleep, Jesus Christ -asked a possessed man his name who thus answered, "My name is legion, for we are many", Padma Sambhava -who traveled back to India from Tibet just to read texts on how to conquer a particular demon, etc. etc. etc.) I find this book right on. But then I have read other versions of the Book of Enoch and they are all the same. Anyone can publish this book because it is over 100 years old like the Bible -there are innumerable versions. I like this particular publishing above all others as it adds other texts like one attributed to Adam (Adam & Eve's Adam), and a few other historically accepted doctrines that just weren't handy for publishing in the Bible when it was put together by the council of Trent. I for one want to know anything I can about God, the Bible, and Christ. If you're looking for the missing pieces of Christianity, this book combined with the Nag Hammadi Library, Dead Sea scrolls, and the Lost Books of Eden should make you completely satisfied once and for all that Christianity is in no way bogus and lacking in its mysticism whatsoever, but only in the man made politics overlaying it. Don't confuse a man for the cancer that has taken a hold of him and start doing your prayers again for the protection of your loved ones. Christ wasn't kidding and neither was Enoch.

Summary: Worth the read
Review: Did you ever wonder about the "sons of God" in the sixth chapter of Genesis? Well, it was a few lines summing up the book of Enoch, likely written prior to Genesis even. This book argues that Enoch is Scripture and also explains why that is so. But since as the cover reads the church fathers suppressed it, we don't find it in our Bibles today. But by drawing parallels to it and our Bible it concludes Jesus had thorough Enochian knowledge. Not only that, but that all the characters of biblical times knew of the Watchers' fall, and the adulteration of our race with Nephilim genetics. They also believe that there were 2 'falls' of the angels rather than one, as commonly thought of as result to Lucifer's fall. The first, out of pride, the Nephilim fell. Second, out of lust, did the Watchers. And as temptation befell the Watchers to incarnate male homo sapiens, the daughters of ancient man gave birth to giants, reputed to be 300 cubits tall by the books translation of Enoch. That also adds to this books value, it has the complete book of Enoch and the book of the secrets of Enoch, and excerpts from the book of Jubilees and the testaments of the twelve patriarchs. Last of all, the book has many illustrations of angel related scenes portrayed. Not a likely best seller, but a worthy read for those interested:)

Summary: POSSIBLY THE MOST IMPORTANT BOOK OF OUR TIME
Review: Elizabeth Clare Prophet has compliled this incredible text together with her valuable and astounding insights. These lost manuscripts are every bit as relevant today if not MORE SO. My personal spiritual quest has shown me that Elizabeth is correct in her insights. I was very fortunate to study these teachings and would advise every sincere seeker that what she says is true. Fallen Angels are not a pleasant subject and these creatures dont want there presence known. Ignore the nay sayers, 'teeth gnashers' and 'finger pointers' that oppose this work my experience has shown me that it is a sign to the sincere seeker that youre getting close to the flame of truth, and the 'serpents' in our midst are getting angry and lash out even through well meaning fundamentalists.

Summary: Great story!!
Review: Even if you're not a religious person, you got too admit this ancient document is very interesting. The book of Enoch has to catch your attention! Fallen Angels/Nephilim interbreeding with women and giving birth to giants, this is great stuff. You learn so much from this book.

Summary: Boring And Unoriginal
Review: First off, there is nothing startling about this waste of paper and ink. In fact, the whole concept of angels abandoning their heavenly abodes for the sake of earthly women is a theme that has been explored by bigger (and better) writers of both fiction and nonfiction. The constant comparing of the Book of Enoch to the books of the Bible grows dull very quickly, and the author's own commentary doesn't really add much, either. If you're truly interested in the Nephilim, then I suggest reading "The Gods of Eden" or "Genesis Revisited".

Summary: Keep baby, throw out bathwater
Review: Good translation of enoch from liberation perspective. I approached Clare with a grain of salt, and tried to consider her target audience when she was writing this intro to the text. If she is using metaphor to get accross her point then she is smarter than people are giving her credit, but then maybe I'm giving her too much credit. The interesting idea behind the book that no other reviewer mentions is its association of the watchers with the world's ruling elites, which Clare does touch upon to her credit. Credit also goes towards Clare for bringing the text to a wider readership. While they exist, you won't find any other copies of this text in a bookstore. Translation alone worth the small sticker price.

Summary: A Historical and Scholarly Text Not Made From Scratch
Review: I don't understand how people could maintain such ignorance about what this book is nor do I get how such silly reviews could be written online. Because the "Book of Enoch" predates the bible itself, to give it anything less than 5 stars is like reading the bible and saying Genesis or Revelations was only so-so. It's beyond rating; it's a HISTORICAL TEXT. One is admitting that they just didn't get it, or that they don't believe in that people or beings are avowed to evil. I've even heard that there are people in this world who deny that Hitler even existed.
Anyway, I collect anything I can about Christianity that is "historical." So I have shelves of books about the Essenes, the Gnostic gospels, the Nag Hammadi Library, and no space is taken by anything "opinionated." What use do I have for books full of people's opinions -and which would I choose? Catholic priest opinions? Presbyterian opinions? Seventh Day Adventist opinions? Later Day Saints opinions? Christian Science opinions? Baptist opinions? Methodist opinions? Etc. etc. etc. etc. (in the thousands). JUST GIVE ME THE ORIGINAL TEXTS!
This version is word for word in comparison to other "book of Enoch" translations. It adds some very solid (simply factual actually) comparisons of the book of Enoch to the Bible, which show plainly that many including Christ, were quoting often from the Book of Enoch. There is the slim possibility that those in Christ's era were picking up the thoughts written down in the "Book of Enoch" like some hundredth monkey kind of thing, but since it was the bible before the bible available to people in Christ's time period, I think it's conclusive.
Anyway, I think I'd rather do something else besides correcting ignorant people who write stupid reviews about things they weren't smart enough to understand and to lazy to do any research about. It reminds me of some of the reviews I've read about the Koran in Amazon.com. People say things like "boring" or say "very lousy" when I'm trying to find out what people think about the particular TRANSLATION of it. Who cares what your opinion is about a piece of historically accepted religious literature. For all we know you could be an atheist or a bigot against other religions and/or races of people (If you are a supremacist in one area you have a propensity and a likelihood for other areas).

Summary: Enoch, Si, Prophet, no!
Review: I read this along with several of the Apocryphal and Pseudopigriphal books of the Bible when I studied religion in college a few years ago. The original book of Enoch and the Secrets of Enoch (a.k.a. Enoch II) are quite interesting and revelaing. The story of the Fallen angels in the Book of Enoch makes a good read, as well as the story of Enoch's expereinces in heaven in "The Secrets of Enoch" and the sayings from both books that are scattered throughout the current Bible. (To the good Christians who aren't in the know about the roots of Christianity, ask your pastors why they never told you about this stuff).

But as for Elizabeth Claire Prophet's analysis of all of this, that's strictly for the cuckoo patch, especially the absurd songs to Enoch.

Summary: I loved this book!
Review: I really like the fact that this book contains all the texts that relate to the Book of Enoch (and the fallen angels who dwell among us on planet earth today). It has the entirety of Richard Laurence's translation of this once "lost" text. The biblical parallels to the Book of Enoch are simply amazing. However, I can understand why this book could rattle the chains of those mired in doctrine and dogma. Kudos to Elizabeth Clare Prophet.
