Review: I wish that this book was written before I got married 21 years ago! I'll be recommending this book to any woman even thinking about getting married. This book is full of common sense. It is thought provoking and inspiring. I absolutely love the phrase "shut up and pray"! I've begun doing that and it really does work! Thank you Stormie for this wonderful book. Summary: This book has made a big difference in my life!!!!
Review: This book was hard for me to take at first because I wanted to fix my husband. I thought he was the one with all of the problems.Boy, was I wrong! The first chapter is entitled "His Wife". That threw me a bit because I thought this was a book about fixing what is wrong with your husband, LOL. Well, the first chapter will bring you to your knees and serve you a big 'ole piece of humble pie! The book is divided up into 30 chapters. Each one deals with an area of your husband's life such as his faith, his future, his work etc. If you are buying this book to change your husband, think again! Thru this book God will change you first and deal with your sinful heart and THEN he will work on your husband. Expect this book to change YOU first!

Review: This is an excellent book for all wives to read. Personally this book has helped in teaching me how to pray for my husband. I recommend this book for wives with christian and non-christian husbands. After reading the book and using the prayers in the book, I have seen a tremendous change in my husband and myself. Excellent book!

Summary: A True Marriage Saver
Review: I thank the Lord for Stormie Omartian's book, "The Power of A Praying Wife." Ever since I've received Christ three years ago, my marriage took a turn for the absolute worst. Divorce was a constant threat for the past two and a half years. (My husband hasn't come to the Lord yet.) I'm constantly in prayer for my marriage, and have been since I've been saved. About two months ago, I cried out in prayer to the Lord to please intervene in my marriage. I was at the end of my rope, and couldn't take it anymore. Within a week, the Lord led me to Stormie's book while I was grocery shopping. I was sceptical at first, but I bought it anyway. From the moment I began reading it, I knew that it was the answer to my prayers. The book gave me a renewed sense of hope and joy that there was something else I could do with God's help to bring about change in my marriage. It was as if Stormie wrote this book specifically for me! I was going through the exact same thing she went through. I learned that we [as wives] must confess our sin to God concerning our husbands, humble ourselves before Him and let Him change us, and pray continually for our husbands, which miraculously enables us to fall in love with them all over again. In such a short time, I've seen changes in myself, my marriage, and my husband -- even though he hasn't committed his life to Christ yet. Slowly but surely, the Lord is softening my husband's heart, and enabling him to show his love for me a little bit more each day. Praise God!! Hallelujah!! Every woman who's married or thinking about getting married should get this book!

Summary: IT REALLY WORKS!!
Review: I borrowed this book from a friend and began praying. My husband was an Agnostic, would not attend church and it was a sincere loss to our marriage. As my Christmas 2000 present, I asked him to attend church for the entire month of December (and there were 5 Sundays!) and turned on the prayers as described in this book. Five weeks later, my husband responded to an alter call and is now a Born-Again Christian!! Thank you Lord for your blessings!! Things have never been better!! May this book bless your family and marriage as it has mine!

Summary: Forever Grateful
Review: I will be forever grateful to Stormie for writing this book...as well as to my sister in Christ who introduced me to it...(Thanks Chari!!!) This book was exactly what i needed. My marriage has been under severe attack for 2 years now...my husband and I have almost divorced several times. Stormie's book has taught me to look at my husband as a son of God who needs prayer because he too is in the process of sanctification...not as a man who is going to fail me like all the others have, therefore, making it impossible for me to be able to depend on him. It has also taught me about the kind of heart I need to have when I am praying for him and gives me a focal point to keep my mind from wandering during prayer. Now when I sense an argument coming on...I grab my book and show it to him as if to say "I am not going to argue with you about this, I am going to pray us through it." I have seen a true change in him, in me and in our marriage. We have started a Praying Wives ministry in our church and online through e-mail and will be starting a Praying Parent ministry in a few weeks. I am so thankful that this book came into my life before it was too late. God is so good...never late...never early.

Summary: praying, praying and praying
Review: I recently found myself faced with so many different crisis. And so many devestating situation. At the time I'm separated from husband. Though we remain in contact I still find myself caught up praying for him. I found myself praying harder than I ever prayed before. Not only for my husband but for myself. I began to also read other books for husband, wives, mothers, finances, relationships and everything else I could get my hands on. I was singing songs and listending to tapes too. I was desperate. What ever I touched I began to read. I invested thoroughly in myself and in my marriage. Though my marriage isn't what it use to be and my husband and I did not reconcile our differences we are now the best of friends. And who knows what the future hold. But as for me, exploring God became my heartfelt desire. I wanted to know everything about Him (God). I figured if I got into the Word and learned everything about him I could learn more about me and why I was going through all that I was going through. I also needed a vast amount of peace. I was challenged on every hand. At the time of our seperation out of spite my husband was having a house built that at first I knew nothing about and when I did find out about it because the abuse had gotten so bad, I didn't want to go anyway so I decided to move with my mother. I did and stayed for a month. And got my own place. I never moved into the house because I knew that was not what God wanted for me. He needed for me to get apart from my husband away from all abuse. I thank God for the book and all the the other books I read on the many different subjects, and the different things I learned. I recommend this books to every broken woman. And to every whole and complete woman too for that matters. And those who aren't broken in any way I encourage you to read it to. It's an excellent book and powerful tool.

Summary: A Marriage Brand New
Review: Giving praise and honor to my Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, I want to thank Him for allowing me to come in contact with Stormie's book, The Power of a Praying Wife. My marital affairs were pretty bleak. I was praying for all the wrong things. Praying first, then reading this book opened my eyes to a alot of things that needed prayer in our life. It wasn't just my husband it was me. I was praying for God to change him. I needed changing, I needed to let go of many issues pent up inside of me. Once God dealt with me, then I was able to move on within my marriage. I am so greatful. My husband and I are now loving, and caring, and respecting each other. My home is truly one that is filled with love and the spirit of Christ. I strongly suggest that every woman read this book, whether married or not, there is something for each of you. I am now persuading my sister to read it. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain. Thank you for walking me through, step by step and for making it easy to read. The prayers are the key. There's one for each chapter. I am working on starting a Praying Wives Ministry as a result of this book. God bless you Stormie!
