Summary: The best gift I ever received
Review: I was given this book by a friend, and I now prize it above all my other books. I'm one of those people who was also blessed with a dream husband, so any problems in my marriage come from me. I not only pray the prayers for him, I also have adapted some of them for myself. Above all--thanks, Stormie, for saying the things I needed to hear.

Summary: This book could save a marriage!
Review: I read this book because I am always trying to find ways to help myself, spiritually. I did not accept Jesus as my savior until I was 23 years old (I am now 30), so I never really understood how to use the power of prayer. I have always prayed at night before drifting off to sleep, and that is a good place to start, but this book has taught me to not "save" it for the end of the day. I find myself praying all day long. This book has certainly helped my marriage. It has taught me how to pray for my husband and my marriage. I now find myself asking for God's help in resolving issues that arrise between my husband and me. Before I would instantly react to whatever my husband would say or do. Now, I stop, think, and then respond. Not only am I enjoying my "new" relationship with my husband... I think he is too! Hats off to Stormie O'Martian for sharing her work with all of us that need a little quidance.

Summary: Outstanding book. This woman is real, and truthful.
Review: As a Christian woman (at the age of 38), who's tried putting books on the coffee table which I felt my husband needed in order to change, it wasn't until I was in the Bookstore, that "GOD" led me to this book. I was astonished!!! I had it all wrong. It was "me" who needed to change, surrender and relinquish the reins so the Holy Spirit could move. Here was a woman who was willing to share her experiences (real, factual and hurting) so that other Christian women who may have felt like their marriage was a disaster to release and allow the Holy Spirit to move. I already see changes in my husband as a result of what I'm doing or not doing. I don't nag (even though the flesh wants to). Thanks for writing such a wonderful book. In addition, this book is so timely. My husband and I just recently got back together in August of this year, and I moved here from California after being separated for 4 years. See how GOD moves!!! If I knew then, what I know now. Glory be to GOD!!

Summary: I highly recommend this book to ALL women!
Review: Stormie Omartian's book has had a direct impact on my life. I have found myself praying Stormie's favorite three word prayer, "Change him Lord." Over and over to no avail. Stormie's book begins with praying for my husband's wife, ME! I have found that in asking God to change my heart, God is faithful, and he has done just that. I was ready to ask my husband for a separation, but I am finding now, as I allow God to work in me, I see changes in my husband that are truly AMAZING! All of our problems are not instantly solved, but with God's help, we are now at a better place to be able to deal with some of the BIG issues. I recommend this book highly for ALL women. (The man whose wife is hitting him with the phone book... she needs to go back to chapter one and start at the beginning. Lord, change me.)

Summary: Excellent! Stormie made me look at myself, and pray, pray.
Review: This is an excellent source for how to pray scripture, for anyone, not just a spouse. The first chapter is directed at wives and I need it. Present, past and future tense. We are so quick to think our husbands need changing when nothing really changes until we let God in to change ourselves. I recommend it to anyone the Lord brings into my path that complains about their marriage.

Review: This book is inspirational in two ways. It promotes a relationship of communication with our Heavenly Father and it promotes a wifes love for her husband. It is a refreshing picture of todays wife with biblical and godly principles.

Summary: inciteful perspective that births new hope and love
Review: The Power of a Praying Wife is an anointed tool that I have seen bring new life into women, their relationships with God, their relationships with their husbands. Oh to understand the eternal perspective of our special roles and position in our husband lives. I have seen miracle changes in my husband EVEN THOUGH WE ARE SEPARATED. I have given this book to at least a dozen women and their responses to the book have all been similar to mine. A word of caution though...If you implement the teachings found in this book, things can get stirred up. Be prepared to go through. It is worth it!

Summary: Too much sugar
Review: This book is totally off base. It makes it sounds like your wife prays, all will be good. That is not true. My wife dominates me so much that I have don't have time to breath. Any you know what she uses as her reasoning? THIS BOOK!!! She says the Christian way of doing things is this way or that way. She won't let me see my brothers, she won't let me play video games, she won't let me leave the house when she is home. Everytime I leave the house, I have to bring our daughter. Everytime she leaves the house, I keep our daughter. Is that fair?? She physically beats me up all the time and I find myself as white as a sheet whenever she gets upset. She terriorizes me from the time I get up to when I go to sleep. Another place this book misses the boat is relating to Christians. The only people my wife wants to associate is with fellow Christians. Well, that means sitting around with elderly people talking about knitting. It is INCREDIBLY boring. yet, the last time I said something about, she hit me on the top of the head with a HUGE phone book. I cry myself to sleep at night worrying that she will beat me up tomorrow. Please write me if you have a difference of opinion or can help!

Summary: The benefits of praying this way are amazing....
Review: From the first chapter and reading of the first prayer in the book I could tell the Holy Spirit was working! I cannot recommend this book enough. I have always prayed for my husband, but Stormie shows you how to pray scripturally through all the different areas of your husband's life. I liked this book so much I started an e-mail discussion loop for "praying wives".

Review: This book has been said to be God's word for all women. And I totally agree. Every woman married or unmarried should read this book. It has enlightened me and lots of my friends. God has truly blessed me and impressed upon me on how to be a better wife and friend.
