Summary: living proof!
Review: This novel, speaking of the first one of the series, is living proof that interesting ideas do not necessarily make a great novel. I was attracted by the book's premise but the shallow writing and expression left me wanting so much more. In fact, I "left the book behind" and did not even finish the novel.

Summary: Better than average.........
Review: One need not be a Christian to enjoy these books, since they do have a science fiction appeal to them, and like the works of Ayn Rand, Robert Heinlein they have serious ethical issues. Although I admit I like C S Lewis science fiction and fiction works better. But the authors are out to attract the secular market and they seem to have succeeded. The dialogue isn't as good as Ayn Rand or Robert Heinlein but the material is better than average.

Summary: Don't Miss Out!!!
Review: Don't miss out on this collection of books or the message it is sending out to everyone. I am apalled at the number of reviews from "Christians" that are negative. I have done exhaustive research on the book of Revelation and the Left Behind series has put before the average person a way to truly understand God's warning of the end times. The books are a bit simplistic but; that is what makes them such a powerful tool for the believer and non-believer. These books are the clearest and probably one of the most accurate explanations I have come across about the end times prophecies as foretold in the book of Revelation. Though no one can truly know what to expect when God returns to take his people. I feel these books can be used as a great tool for your non-believing friends and family.

Summary: ITS YOUR WAY OR GODS WAY!
Review: I wasn't a true believer till I got this book. I didn't even buy the book, I had to read it for school. Something, you should know about me is I do not like to read books that are too long. I thought I would skip through the pages, but when I started reading it I couldn't stop. I even had to buy the whole set. I'm still reading the set today. I'm waiting for the new one after the Remnant. I feel God wanted me to read this book. He probably wants you to read it to, so please give it a chance and read it. These are the best books you could buy!

Summary: Dripping with hate and utter fabrication
Review: These books are extremely bad. The reasons for this are several: First of all, it disgustingly stereotypes and slams everybody who is not an evangelical fanatic Protestant. Then again, lots of people like this; I know somebody who is an evangelical fanatic Protestant, and he enjoyed these books very much.
Another reason for the utter horribility of these embarassing books is the fact that they are written in a style fit for two year olds.... no, that's too kind; 2 year olds with DOWN SYNDROME. The characters have terribly corny names like "Nicolae Carpathia" and "Buck Stevens", which I would think was "cool", if I were still a fetus. In addition to these corny names, the book is prone to having characters launch into unintelligble, stupid monologues- an example sentence would go like this: "So Buck, I think that the corporations and the AntiChrist in Botswana won't affect the HOLY FORCES(R) in Namibia if they fabricate the intelligence of the AntiChrist, eh, Buck?"
One thing going in the book's favor is the fact that it is action-packed. However, Left Behind manages to change this into a disadvantage, because the action is poorly described, poorly set up, and just plain terrible. In addition to that, this book has a dearth of sex scenes, which is unusual, because the Bible is chock-full of them.

So, let's sum up this book: poorly written, right-wing anti-everybody-who-isn't-a-religiously-fanatical-evangelical-Protestant, and other than that, retarded. Don't buy this useless piece of drivel; save your money for something more important and mentally stimulating, like a DVD of The Little Mermaid.

Summary: A bit of an embarrassment overall
Review: On one hand I am really glad that this book is selling so well. Many mainstream readers are probably contemplating eternal matters they never would have otherwise contemplated.

However, I was a bit embarrassed not only by the strong emphasis on events which are biblically questionable, but also the sloppy writing style and the missed details. The story is definitely exciting -- in the same way that a Tom Clancy story is riveting, but Tom Clancy gets his details straight and Lahaye and Jenkins disappoint. Aircraft types and technical details were rife with errors -- and while this doesn't hurt the story, it does hurt the credibility of more important (eternal) details.

After all I'd heard about these books, I had hoped for better.

Summary: Left Behind Collection I
Review: I'm very glad I bought the collection. I decided to buy the collection because I had heard so much about Left Behind. The books move fast, keeping the interest of the reader. When you get to the end of the book, you want to keep going which is why the collection is a great idea. I'm only disappointed that I didn't buy the second collection right away, because now I have to wait until it gets here.
