Summary: Check this out!
Review: If you like LEFT BEHIND try THE CHRIST CLONE TRILOGY by James BeauSeigneur. It's like LEFT BEHIND on steroids!

Summary: It is fiction!!!
Review: These books do not claim to be fact. They are books to get children interested in reading the bible and finding out for themselves the facts. If you look inside the covers it says they are fiction.
That said... they do what I think the authors intended. I have 12 grandchildren and all of the ones that can read have read the books and are now looking up in the bible what the stories were referring to. Got my granddkids interested in the bible without being pushy. GREAT JOB by the authors in my opinion.

Summary: The Left Behind books aren't what you think they are
Review: I disagree with the Left Behind books and any like it. These books are against Christian priciples and they teach people that the human soul is good and the human body is bad, but Christians believe that the human soul and human body are good.

Summary: A Word of Caution.
Review: I think it is important to remember that this is a novel, i.e. a work of fiction. As one who has studied the book of Revelation and the various ways of interpreting the book, I must say that the authors' grasp of theology is flawed. Because of this, I did not enjoy the 'Left Behind' series. The feeling I was left with was similar to reading a novel set in London, only to discover that the landmarks and scenery described therein did not exist.

If the accuracy of the theology is not a factor to you, then you should enjoy the series. If you take your spirituality seriously, then definitely take anything written in these books with a grain of salt.

Summary: How Horribly Mean!
Review: I started the first one, but there was something in there that irked me so much, I just couldn't finish.

Here it is. There is a girl (I don't remember her name) whose Dad was a complete playboy. He always had women over, he didn't care about his daughter, etc. However, he hears a preacher one night and "gets saved." Hence, when the rapture comes, he is taken up, and the daughter is left behind. Immediate Problems. Jesus, Who is all Just, would never make a daughter pay for her father's mistakes so dearly. Mr. LaHaye actually expects me to believe that this poor girl, who has never been taught or shown about Christ, is left behind.! And, to add insult to injury, her father, who was responsible for his daughter's soul and left it in jeopardy, gets raptured anyways?! Hello?

It is a good thing Jesus is running the world and not the authors of Left Behind.

Summary: My Take on End-Times Books
Review: With all the end-times novels on the market it's probably useful to see a comparison from someone who has read most of them. So here's my take on the matter.

LEFT BEHIND is an action adventure written primarily for Christians with a huge cross-over into the secular market. It sticks very closely to scripture and to prophecy of the time during the Tribulation. There is never any doubt of the authors' position and which characters are good and which are bad. Beyond that, there's been so much said about Left Behind that probably every possible opinion has been expressed. Some love it. Some hate it. Personally, I like the Left Behind series a lot.

THE LAST DAY makes no attempt at all to adhere to scriptural prophecy. It is, in fact, less accurate scripturally than The Omen movies or End of Days. If you want a fun read and don't care whether the story has any connection to scripture, it's probably okay.

THE CHRIST CLONE TRILOGY, my definite favorite among the list, is written for a secular audience with a big cross-over into the Christian market. Through most of the 3 books you don't know what the author's position is or which (if any) of the characters speak for him. Only in the last book do you find out he is a Christian and that he is using his story telling ability to reach the lost with the Gospel and the danger that faces them if they do not accept it.

WE ALL FALL DOWN is a story of a man forced to make decisions about himself and God when faced by undeniable evidence (living through the Tribulation) that the Bible is true. It's an interesting exploration in character but the author's development of the events of the Tribulation is muddled and very thin. The thing most Christians object to about We All Fall Down is the non-stop use of extreme profanity by the main character. It was hard for me to get past all the f-words, and I certainly would not say I enjoyed it, still it made me think.

Summary: Will the Rapture come first???
Review: Okay, I'm hooked on this series. I've read 6 of the 9 so far and I have to admit it gets pretty unrealistic at times. I guess I'm just a sucker for a soap opera. I'm hooked on the story of the characters.

On the other hand, while I'll keep reading Left Behind, I have to agree with all those that say that The Christ Clone Trilogy by James BeauSeigneur is really a better and much more realistic end times series. Besides since The Christ Clone Trilogy is a completed series, you don't have to worry so much that the rapture will come before you finish reading.;-)

Summary: A failure
Review: I am an ardent believer in Christ, but that does not mean that anything written about Christianity should be endorsed and embraced regardless of its quality. I have read all 12 of these novels and they simply aren't very good. The writing is poor, the plot unimaginative, and there certainly isn't anything in these books that will cause a Christian to re-examine and thus more fully embrace our beliefs. Look, I don't doubt that the authors had the best intentions with these books, but quality has to count for something. There are better alternatives out there. Try We All Fall Down by Caldwell. It's well-written and extreimly intelligent. If you're going to read about Christianity, read something that is worth your time.

Review: I've read a number of reviews, but the ones by those who refute the validity of the bible flays me. The left behind series is a set of biblical Fiction/non fiction novels on what will happen as we draw to the day of the L-rd. Firstly let me tell you something that is not written in the Left Behind series. Did you know that the Jewish Bible (the Tanuch) was copied in about 380BC by Hebrew scolars so that the Jewish people that were under the rule of the Greeks and thus had learnt Greek and had forgotten there origanal hebrew language could continue reading the Bible. thus we have two Bibles, one the Tanuch, the other the Septugint which was a complete greek translation of the Tanuch. What's in the Tanuch is in the Septugint and visa versa. So we have more than two hundred prophecies pertaining to Yeshua(Jesus)But lets just look at one or two of them, not forgetting that the Septugint was completed over 300yrs. before Yeshua(Jesus).Read Gen 3:15. Right from the first sin of man G-d already knew that He would have to find a way to redeem His creation. Why the seed of the woman.Man has the seed not the woman.G-d interveened and thus the child became the Son of G-d. Read the Gospel of John and then read Psalm22, Isaiah 53.Is it not unreal that what G-d said about Christ hundreds of years before came about to the last prophecy and it's not finnished.Left Behind will cause your minds eye to witness vividly What the Bible (especially Revelation)talk about on the end times. Get the books and enjoy. G-d Bless you all.

Summary: Christian Propaganda
Review: This series of novels is inspired by "The Revelation to John", the last book in the New Testament, the third section of the Bible, the Christian holy book. "The Revelation to John" (which is often misnamed "The Book of Revelations") tells the Christian myth of what will happen at the end of the world. Basically, the authors took this story, which is barely 20 pages long, and turned it into a series of 12 novels plus a spin-off series that deals with kids. The Christian view is that only the people that believe that Jesus lived 2,000 years ago and died for their sins will be saved and receive an eternal reward in Heaven. What makes this worse is that individual merit based on good or evil deeds is not taken into consideration, because Christians believe that human beings cannot be put right with God except through Jesus. Christians believe that they are saved through faith alone; no amount of good works can win God's approval. So, all of the people that don't believe in Jesus will receive an eternal punishment in Hell, regardless of how many good deeds they do and how caring they are to other people. Meanwhile, the Christians will be saved no matter how evil they behave, because they've got Jesus on their side. "The Revelation to John" tells of an event known as the Rapture: all of the Christians are taken up to Heaven, and everyone else is left behind on Earth. After an event known as the Tribulation and world rule by someone known as the Anti-Christ, Jesus finally returns to Earth and defeats his enemies. Then the old Heaven and the old Earth go away, and a new Heaven and a new Earth are established - with God as King, of course. This took 20 pages in the Bible. Imagine reading the same story stretched over thousands of pages. As a non-Christian, I'm alarmed at what I consider to be an evil religion perpetuated by zealous idiots. Christians base their beliefs on documents that are close to 2,000 years old but don't quite date back to the time period that the events within allegedly occured. There is no physical evidence of the existence of Jesus. There are no non-Christian records of Jesus (not even in Roman execution records). There are no records by astrologists of the time period that describe such an event as that which supposedly occured during Jesus' crucifixion. I belief that the reason that Christianity has endured and grown as much as it has is because it's the only religion in the world that threatens the non-believer with an eternal punishment. Christianity is, at its core, a religion that rewards the "yes" people and punishes the nonconformists. The Bible itself orders Christians to spread the religion throughout the world. Christians feels that it's their duty to convert all non-Christians to Christianity. They pity non-Christians and "pray for their souls". They place themselves into a group of the elite - the saved. They start missions to convert the "heathen" non-Christians and "bring them over to Jesus". The Roman Catholic Church even has a division, called Propaganda, that specifically tries to establish churches in non-Christian nations. An example of a Christian mission is this book series. The authors are trying to bring readers to Jesus through these novels, which have, sadly, become best-sellers. I think that Christians should abort their missions and just leave people of other religions in peace. I'm so glad that there are billions of non-Christians in the world. It would be horrible if the Christians converted everyone. The world needs a balance of beliefs. Otherwise, it would lose its diversity. If you want to read a good book of a battle between good and evil, then read "The Stand: The Complete & Uncut Edition" by Stephen King. It tells a similar story, only better and in only 1,000 pages. The premise is that a superflu kills millions of people (we don't see what's going on in the whole world, just the United States), and those that are left band into two opposing camps of good and evil. The thing that makes King's book a lot better than this series is that no explanation is ever given for why these people are immune to the superflu. All types of people are left behind, both Christians and non-Christians. The authors of the "Left Behind" series make it seem like the world would fall into chaos if all of the Christians disappear, which is ludicrous. King wisely avoids this in his book. Buy it and enjoy it. Skip the "Left Behind" series. If you want to know what happens, take an hour to read "The Revelation to John".
