Summary: My Testimony: NLT Bible Changed My Life!!!
Review: I have found the NLT Bible very easy to follow and very understandable. English is a second language for me. I have been reading the Bible all my life in French (Louis Second Translation), Haitian Creole and English (KJV, NIV, etc.). One exercise I enjoy doing is to compare various translations of a difficult verse in different languages to better understand the meaning; the NLT Bible has been the most direct. The commentaries reinforces the point made in the verses, and revolve around themes such as complete obedience to God, rejection of self and pride, active worshiping, and the renewal of one's heart. This has worked for me. Praise the Lord! Since I started reading the NLT Bible, my life has changed so much. I have renewed my trust in God. I no longer count on my own strength nor intelligence to accomplish anything. Like Jehosaphat, now I solely count on God. I became more faithful in tithings, in doing what is right, loving mercy and humbling myself before God. Today, I'm a much happier person, and I want to witness it to the world!! I have purchased at least a dozen NLT Bibles for family members and friends, and they all love it. The NLT Bible had helped me realize that what is most important in Bible reading is HOW you apply it in your daily dealings with other human beings and with our most wonderful and amazing God!!! Summary: Large Pring Needed
Review: I have just become acquainted with this wonderful work. I work with the ALPHA program and needed this kind of Bible for new Christians or Christians who are not familiar with the Bible. I am in an intergenerational women's bible study and this will be very helpful to me...One Problem.... I need larger print!!!!

Summary: Life Application Bible
Review: I have used this translation for approximatly 6 years, and have found it to be the most comprehensive, easy to understand, and applicable translation I have ever seen or used. The commentary uses practical, thought provoking questions and comments which are applicable to today's life and times. Excellent for the beginner to the advanced. Highly recommend it !

Summary: What a great bible&what a wonderful translation!
Review: I just recently purchased this bible to help me study the bible more.I really enjoy the New Living Translation, because it is easy to understand.On a scale of 1 to 10,I would give this bible a 10+.What great study helps,and what a great concordance too. If you are looking for a bible,i would highly recommend getting this bible,so rush to your local Christian bookstore and ask for this bible you will really enjoy it!

Review: I really have trouble reading the FINE PRINT. I just received this Bible as a gift for my birthday from my nephew in California. It was such a lovely gift,but, I'm not sure how I can tell him I am unable to read the small print.I don't know if this comes in large print or not, but if it does, is there any way that I can exchange it? It's the leather bound with gold leafed pages. Thank you, lc moyer-warboys

Summary: Good Study Bible but the translation is not so accurate.
Review: I really like Life Application bible, but I think NLT is good for people who just start reading English, kids or international people. The translation is not bad and easy to read, but other versions like NIV is more accurate. I am an international student too, but don't really like this version that much because the translation is not deep enough. I know some of you don't agree with me, but guess what I think update NASB is good for study bible. Life Application bible has the update NASB too, and I remember that version more.

Summary: A Nice Translation
Review: I started reading the New Living Translation while working through an upper level course on Greek exegesis. I was simply looking for a version that emphasized a sentence-by-sentence translation as opposed to a word-for-word translation (because I was required to do this type of translating for my assignments). I was pleasantly surprised with the NLT. It is a very impressive work, and makes for very smooth reading. The translation team also made the wise decision to translate the dates in the text into their modern equivalents. So, whereas previous translations might read that a certain event happened in, say, the twelfth year of a certain king, the NLT will (based on historical data) read that it happened in "586 BC" or "on April 22nd, 722 BC" They have also done the same thing with other forms of measurement (including currency, weight, and time). This makes the events seem much easier to relate to.
For these reasons (and others too) I think this is a really good version. So, if you are looking for a translation that focuses more on the overall meaning of each sentence, and not just the meaning of each word, I heartily recommend this one.

Review: I think this is the greatest ever! I am new to the bible and have never had a complete understanding of it until now. I grew up with the KJV and never got anything out of it...nor was I interested until I bought this Life Application Bible. Easy to understand. Puts historical events to a timeframe. Before, I had no idea when things happened...why they happened or the signifigance of it all...now I do. I have to recommend this to all newcomers to religion. I am buying one for everyone in my family for Christmas and the Large print for my Grandma who has read the KJV inside out a couple of times...I hope she will have a better understanding of what she has read in relation to today's living.

Summary: NLT Life App. Bible is Accurate, Relevant & Enjoyable!,
Review: I've used the NLT Life Application Bible for approx. 3 yrs & I find it to be a great all around Bible for all levels of study. I speak English & Spanish fluently, & know that many times when you translate a word literally from one language to another, the original meaning can be lost or confusing. NLT focuses not only on literal word translation, but conveying the original meaning of the text. Many times I "catch" my wife looking in my Bible to clarify the meaning of a scripture she just read in her Bible. Because the NLT is translated in the most modern idiom, it is very enjoyable to read. That's important because if you have to struggle with words or meanings, you'll be less apt to pick it up & read it on a regular basis. I'll read mine for hours at a time. Who said reading the Bible can't be fun?!! The Life Application Study Bible is designed not just to give you "head knowledge" but to challenge you in your daily walk with Christ. It encourages one to live the words you are reading. The layout of the book is "user friendly". The Study Notes are relevant, clear & concise. It offers an array of maps, character profiles, & book intros. One final thought.. No ONE translation accurately captures the original meaning of every single word perfectly. That's why many Pastors and Bible students use several translations to supplement their favorite translation. I mainly use the NLT, but cross reference with NIV, NASV, & others.
