Rating: Summary: Best Book Ever Review: Best Book Ever...this is THE book on the subject. If you could only have two books...make one the Bible and this the other one.
Rating: Summary: A bit overrated Review: I received great reviews from friends about this book so I became interested myself. However, upon reading, I wondered if their praises were over generous & the book overrated? I don't want to sound too negative in reviewing this book. Maybe had I read it during a more receptive state, then, I probably would have appreciated it more. As it is, I found the introductory phase too long. The author could have simply made this shorter & proceeded with the "purpose chapters" immediately. What I appreciate though is the "reflection portions" at the end of each chapter. These do not only summarize the several-pages long chapters, but most importantly allow you to reflect & get in touch with your inner self.

Rating: Summary: What a book Review: So you don't have to keep flipping to the back of the book to see where the scriptures came from - just use this paperback along with the regular book. Works great!
Rating: Summary: Buy a notebook instead Review: This is nothing less than yet another money making scheme to bilk money out of consumers in the name of God. Take a Bible and a cheap notepad - create your own. Not only is it a LOT cheaper but you'll gain more. This is just another attempt by Rick Warren to make money by selling God.
Rating: Summary: All the scriptures from the book in one place Review: This is such a handy book to use along with The Purpose Driven Life because it pretty much focuses on the scriptures (and there are plenty of them) from all the different translations that the author uses. So you don't have to keep flipping to the back of the book to see where the scriptures came from - just use this paperback along with the regular book. Works great!
Rating: Summary: snippets Review: Whenever a new Christian hoola hoop fad comes along, it sparks offshoots. While in many cases, the permutations these sub hoops take is mostly an exercise in capitalism, in this case, the off shoot is the equal of or perhaps superior to the prime in usefulness. The daily devotional consists of soundbite key concepts of the Purpose driven life backed up by relevant scriptures to the thought. Notably, the version of the Bible from one to another varies. This allows one to compare say the NIV to the NLV or Message, etc. For those crunched for time or who don't care to read, this book is an easy way to get the benefit of the full book. It is also handy to carry for a quick scripture fix.
Rating: Summary: TO ACT OR NOT TO ACT Review: With an open mind and some determination, you can find out how your life can be better through spiritual understanding and by active daily participation in God's plan for your life. One's life has purpose and comes to a 'dead end' only if you ignore God's plan for you. The forty day journey using this additional resource can have a life-changing impact on you if you determine to seek out your purpose. Your life will become purposeful and satisfying. Your choice - dead end or satisfaction.
In this world, nothing is perfect. How we view the things around us colors what we think. If we think that the glass is half full and that is a good thing, we will have a positive view of things. If we think that the glass is half empty and that is a bad thing, we will have a negative view of things. So many have an attitude about life that is ambivalent because they let 'things' around them put a damper on their purpose. God gives us his plan. It is tailored for each of us as individual's. Negative attitudes normally bring unsatisfactory results. Positive attitudes color life in very reassuring ways. One must choose one's attitude very carefully. Things of this world are temporary and imperfect.
There are some of us who need help with reinforcing scriptures and guidance with meditation, while others need little or no assistance. If one needs the assistance this book is a great way to go. If you do not need the assistance or fail to follow through with using it, it will be a waste. Your choice is to act or not to act. Let your choice be an honest action.
