Rating: Summary: For Everyone Review: I don't care if you are a Christian your whole life, brand new or not even, you must read this book. Rick Warren has done an outstanding job of helping clear the misunderstanding of all levels of God and our purpose here on Earth. If you read one book this year, this is the one that will help you better understand ou purpose in life and what things you need to do to get on track.
Rating: Summary: Incredible book! Review: This book has been truly remarkable in the life of myself, family, and many friends. Rick is very blunt, to the point, and honest about what it means to have a Purpose Driven life. I would recommend this book to anyone who has ever asked the question - What is the purpose of life?
Rating: Summary: The Purpose Driven Life Review: Reading this book can change your life. God created each of us for a purpose. We are not an accident! As we come more in line with God's purpose for our lives, our lives become more exciting and rewarding. There are many "jewels" in this book that have really impacted my life. I have read it twice and hopefully will read it many more times.
Rating: Summary: Refreshing and Straightforward Review: The Greeks were concerned with what they called the 'telos', meaning 'purpose' or 'end'. It's this over-arching and critical topic of purpose that Rick Warren addresses in this book. This most fundamental question is one that every person must answer (either consciously or unconsciously) Why am I here? The answer effects what a person does, says, feels, and thinks. Warren recognizes the incredible importance of this topic and does a superb job of offering a compelling answer. 1. Unlike the answers of philosophy or psychology, Warren claims that purpose must be found outside one's self. It is not a matter of introspection, but rather one of knowing ultimate reality - God's person, being, and nature. This theological perspective places a solid anchor outside the self and provides a clear starting point for understanding the self in light of God's intentions. 2. The devotional aspect of the book (40 short chapters to be read over 40 days) allows for a complete digestion of the subject matter. This allows the reader to ponder and react to the material - something that is often missing in our face-paced culture. 3. The book is very objective and does not get bogged down in a multitude of anecdotes, stories, and examples. This is a refreshing difference from Po Bronson's book, "What Should I Do With My Life" Amazingly the book still remains very practical, and fresh. Warren's bottom line is that real meaning and significance comes from understanding and fulfilling God's purposes for us. He is the end, and we are most content when we see ourselves as God does.

Rating: Summary: Purpose Driven Life Review: I found the book to be very inspiring and very practical. While much of the book is very basic, Warren also brings out ideas from the Bible that are unique, but well supported by scripture. He really provides concrete steps for getting to know God and for growing in your relationship with him.
