Summary: A good book of biographies
Review: I found this to be an interesting account of some of the great men and women of the early pentecostal/charismatic movement. This book showed me that God can use anyone, even people with unsound doctrine, to bring about great miracles. I didn't like the methods or beliefs of some, but others I did. None of them were perfect, but God chose them. I felt that this book was a balanced account of their lives and ministries, although the author has an obvious pentecostal slant in his opinions. I do recommend this book overall.

Review: (I've already reviewed this on October 16,1999, but since then I've changed my email address) First off, I'd like to say that Pastor Roberts Liardon is a man of God. With these men and women that God has called him to write about, he explains their lives, and helps us to look at ourselves more in deph with the spirit realm. Are we walking according to God's standards? Are we operating in the great gifts of the Holy Spirit? Are we showing compassion and love and taking care of our bodies which are the temples of the Holy Ghost? These questions may arrouse you when you read this book, or watch the video series. I encourage any baptized believer in Christ who wants to grow spiritually to read this book! It will help change you life!

Review: God's Generals details the lives of prominent men and women from the Pentecostal/Charismatic Movement from the early 1900's until the mid 1900's. Liardon gives both the good and the bad from the lives of those whom were key in spreading the charismatic movement from a handful in 1906 to the largest evangelical movement in history.Oddly enough, Liardon himself fell into sin after writing this book when it was revealed that Liardon was in a homosexual relationship with his youth pastor at the church Liardon pastored. Truly, we need to learn the lessons of history for it we don't learn history then we are bound to repeat it. And further, Paul's words in 1 Corinthians 10:12 fit this book so strongly.

Summary: A Page-Turner!
Review: I have always been greatly impacted by the words and works of Roberts Liardon and this book is no exception. I've actually heard him preach on this series before, but reading it straight from the book is a definite different experience. He makes each unique individual come alive with fire and passion. This book will open the eyes of many to catch a glimpse of the awe-inspiring lives of men and women who once lived so very closely to the Most High God!

Review: I have been blessed time and time again through Pastor Roberts ministry, this book has blessed me once again. I'm just sad to see that him and Pastor Barry Cook are having problems. Has the devil succeded in imparting divination to the ministry? Is this going to cause hate and discontent like the protestant and Catholic war in Europe? I am OUTRAGED TO SEE HOW ONES HAVE LOST FOCUS ON CHRIST!!!! THIS REMINDS ME OF GANGS, IT'S LIKE THE BLOODS AND THE CRYPTS!!!!! FIGHTING, WHEN WE SHOULD BE WORSHIPING TOGETHER!!!!!!! PASTOR ROBERTS AND PASTOR BARRY SHOULD BOTH REPENT AND FORGIVE EACH OTHER JUST LIKE GOD FORGAVE THEM!!!!!!!!

Review: I really enjoyed this book. It was a blessing to me and I learned a lot from it. I especially enjoyed reading about: Smith Wigglesworth, Jack Coe, Amy Mchperson, A.A. Allen, Kathryn Kuhlman and others. Roberts is an anointed man of God and it shows in his writing. I love to read his books and watch his videos. They are very inspirational! If you haven't read this book, READ IT! It will help change your life!

Summary: God's Generals: Why They Succeeded and Why Some Failed
Review: I was not expecting what happened to me when I read this book. I will never be the same. In reading the real life accounts of men and women of God who yielded themselves FULLY to Him, I became hungry for the same work in my own life. The times of miracles and signs and wonders is not over but the time when people would lay aside their carnal desires and go after God until they find Him has diminished. I wish every person in the body of Christ would read this book and begin to live it. Not only would the sick be healed but the lost would leave the bars for the glorious presence of God. Since reading it, God has allowed me to pray for people with cancer, tumors and even blindness and see them healed. It has only made me want more and I can't stop until I get all of Him I can get this side of heaven. Read this book, go after His presence and change your corner of the world like the Generals who went before you!
