Rating: Summary: Definately Worthwhile Reading Review: I was skeptical at first, but I'm not foolish enough to doubt God's power to make Jesse's trip happen. Think about the book of Revelation itself. Why is it so hard to believe that God can still reveal himself today, in His own way, as He did 2000 & 3000 years ago?
Jesse's message in this book is tht Jesus coming back again....soon. That He loves us and wants us to spend eternity with Him, by accepting Him as our Savior. This is NOT the message of a false prophet. False prophets don't tell us about God's love for us. They steer us in the opposite direction.
They misquote scripture. This book DOESN'T.
As for Jesse's levity, well it's true, "A merry heart doeth good like a medicine."
My advice - read, enjoy & be changed.
Rating: Summary: Inspiring Review: I'm a born again christian and I saw the tapes of jesse duplantis's visit to heaven, and I read the negative reveiws of jesse duplantis books. For those so-called christians who don't have the holy spirit to descern a real prophect from a false one, apparently haven't read the word of God in depth, because it's says that you will know a false prophect by the fruits that he bears. So of you need to go back and read the word again because for judging the man of God you will also be judged and in the same measure that you judge. And who are you to call him a false prophect anyway? I don't know what kind of God your'e serving if you can't tell whose his true servants or not. You really need to re-examine your relationship with God because it is probably shaky, with your saul before he came apostle paul spirit.
Rating: Summary: Excellent book and easily read! Review: Interesting description of Heaven. Book takes a couple of hours to read and it appears Jesse Duplantis was very sincere in his writings. Well worth the read for the Christian and non-Christian alike.
Rating: Summary: Horrible Review: Its amazing that people can read this garbage and believe it. It doesnt take a biblical scholar to figure out the foolishness of this book and of Duplantis' teachings in general. Typical Charismatic mumbo jumbo, everybody is in competition of having some supernatural experience just to make themselves more "spiritual" than others. You want to read a good book? "The Gospel according to Jesus" by John MacArthur. Basic fundamental truth, not fantasy.
Rating: Summary: We must oppose false teachings like these! Review: Jesse Duplantis (not to mention Kenneth Copeland) is a false teacher. How long will the Christian Church tolerate these blasphemies? I could recomend no books by Duplantis or practically any TBN "preacher". Please please buy Hank Hannegraaff's "Counterfeit Revival" instead!
Rating: Summary: Negative Review: Jesse Duplantis is a FALSE Prophet that Paul and others have spoken of. He has no more seen heaven than Mickey Mouse. He uses the gospel and the Bible as a joke. He treats the sacred scriptures as nothing more than stand-up comic. When you tell a joke, you usually have to tell lies in order to make it funny. ALL liars shall have their part in the lake of fire. There are NO excuses for anyone. All excuses were left at the cross on Calvary. Paul also reminds us to not "Jest" which means joke. Jesse is all about money. His God is his belly. The almighty God will take care of Jesse and his deceit over of the people. A lot of people will end up in hell because they followed Jesse. I'm not against Jesse, per se, I'm against sin and Jesse is imbeded in sin.
You may think that I am judging, but I am not. Sin has already been judged. I am speaking and confirming that which has already been written. In order to stand for the gospel of Jesus Christ, Saints must be bold in their speech and fear no man. Cry loud and SPARE NONE!
Rating: Summary: A really neat book, by a great speaker... Review: Jesse Duplantis is a great speaker on TBN(and so is Cathy for that matter), he has a great sense of humor and is a likable person. When you read any charismatic books, you must use your discernment, and always remeber the Bible is the ONLY reliable book for Christians, however this book is fun and delightful, and for me it was stimulating, and informitive. I like the story about the angel visiting him the best. A good book, and a fun read.
Rating: Summary: One of the BEST books in existence today Review: Jesse experience being caught up in heaven, taking a tour around and reaching the very throne of God is an awsome and wonderful love letter from God to us in these last days. If you're looking for a preview of life in heaven - this is it. It has amplified my focus on things above where Christ is seated - yet reminds me not to forget to tell people down here about the gospel and his soon return. I liked the part where Jesus preached in front at the throne of God, the conversations with Abraham, David, Paul, Jonah, and most of all with Jesus himself. You will share in the sorrow of Jesus for the lost and some of you may even find yourselves in full-time ministry after reading this book. There are only a few books that you will read over again - this is one of them. If you're hungry for more of these - also try "Didn't you Read my Book" - Richard Eby and "The heavens opened" - Anna Roundtree, I hope Rick Joyner's book arrives from mail soon.
Rating: Summary: Heavenly Preview Review: Man, you wanna talk about a book you can't put down! I read this in one night (which isn't that great of a feat, since the book is only 185 pages of large type), and I was so excitied and pumped after I was finished that I wasn't able to sleep! I was that wired. The first third of the book, roughly, regards Jesse's early years and his first encounters with the spiritual realm. These are extremely interesting tidbits, especially when Brother Jesse continues to live a heathen life style after these events. You really want to ask him, "WHAT IS YOUR PROBLEM?" Obviously, he straightens up later on... Brother Jesse does all of this, of course, with his trademark humor. Even in print, this man is a mess. He is incredibly humorous...all I could think of is, "I'd gladly pay an expensive steak dinner to sit down with him and just talk about the Lord". It would be an expreience I'd not forget, I'm sure. The main meat of the book, however, deals with the Brother Jesse being caught up into Heaven and meeting many of the biblical saints - Abraham, David, Paul, Jonah - and most importantly, our savior Jesus. He describes what they look like, how tall they were, their personalites, etc...Once you get to this point, where Jesse is on a tour of heaven guided by the king of Isreal, David, I challenge you to put this book down. I think it's impossible to do. I came away with a better understanding of Jesus than I did before I read this book. I always viewed Him as a teacher, a gentle man of love. While He is indeed very much that, what I came away with after reading this book is that He is very much a preacher, a leader, an on-fire motivator, a being of unproachable integrity (I say "being" because Jesus is more than a man). I can honestly say this book has changed me. I want a robe, not a gown, and after reading this book, I believe you'll feel the same way, as well.
Rating: Summary: Everyone in my house (except me) read it in one sitting! Review: The Bible doesn't tell us a lot about heaven. We glimpse the promise somewhere between the Eden of Genesis and New Jerusalem of Revelation. Then comes Jesse with a first-hand account of heaven! The glory of God lighting up the whole place, Jesus and the prophets minstering to the saints, Paul and the Apostles teaching and talking with the citizens of heaven, eating fruit from heavenly gardens. It's all beyond credibility somehow. I wondered if Jesse was pulling our leg. Selling his story for the money. Trying to make a name for himself on the speaking tour. My modern day skeptism and sense of smell for charlatans leapt within me. However, reading his accounts, his commentary, and his testimony persuaded me that he is faithfully reporting what he saw, felt, and understood. I believe this is a true account of a heavenly adventure by a fellow Christian journeyman. If you accept that too, you will be challenged with a burden for the lost, an urgent sense of Christ's impending return, and a deeper love for God. The story is told in a simple, straightforward, and humble fashion. My wife and daughter finished it in one reading. This book is a sweet testimony to the love, patience, mercy, grace and glory of the living God of heaven and earth.
