Summary: Have Never Been Able To Forget!
Review: I read this book back in the 70's about the same time I read another unforgettable one, Corrie Ten Boom's "The Hiding Place", and I have never been able to forget either one of them! Not that I would want too! It is hard to describe what a blessing both books are to the Christian faith. The way they show how our compassionate God can touch our lives even when facing immeasurable odds.I defy anyone with a heart to read these without getting choked up!The miracles in both, are awesome, too. Just thinking about when I read them on loan from my library, made me fall in love with God all over again, and I had to own them for myself,so I could loan them for one thing. Of course you can guess where I purchased them! Truly inspiring, and "Must Haves" for any Christian book collection.

Summary: A wonderful example
Review: A wonderful story that became History. It should serve as an example of how a simple man can do so much to change his generation and even the course of the world only by being willing to serve God no matter the cost. Everyone should read it and be inspired to go and show the love of Jesus Christ to a hopeless world.

Summary: Jack Reviews God's Smuggler
Review: God's Smuggler is a thrilling story! The title may infer that the book is only about the smuggling work of Brother Andrew, but his exciting life's story is also told. God's Smuggler kept me captivated from the beginning to all the way to the end and showed me that no matter what the circumstance, any child of the greatest King can live like royalty.

Summary: One of the Best of Books
Review: God's Smuggler was an excellent book! It was humerous, inspiring, and even romantic in parts. I would recommend this book to anyone, especially those looking for: adventure, Christian literature, information about the Iron Curtain, and missionaries. Definately a "5 star" book!

Summary: Inspiring, hard to put down!
Review: God's Smuggler was just what I needed at this time with it's stories of faith in God and daring trips behind the iron curtain.
It has inspired me to trust God more with my money - and whole life! Oh! that I could have the faith of Brother Andrew.

Summary: Real Examples of God's Provision and Sovereignty
Review: I am used to doctrine textbooks that state the fact that God is real, loving, and that he provides for us. But here is a book that is told in the humble language of a man who only wants to honor the King he serves. It tell the true story of a man who risked everything to encourage brothers and sisters behind the Iron Curtain. Even now there are brothers and sisters in places like China, Sudan, and the Middle East who are suffering, too. Read this book and take it as a challenge to care for those children of God who feel lonely and isolated, whether they be Sudanese, Chinese - or your neighbors, your colleagues, or your classmates. The call is simple: Pray and serve.

Summary: A truly great book --a testament to God's faithfulness
Review: I loved this book - couldn't put it down. Made me ponder my own faith. Will read it again and recommend it to others.

Summary: No Milk-tost Christians
Review: If self-sacrifice is the mark of true heroism, then Brother Andrew is in a class with the most valient. This book tells his story from birth and youth in WWII poverty, to the agnosticysm of a young man to the realization that God is REAL and part of his life. It will challenge your faith to rely on God as if he were a king leading his troops into battle. He is. Brother Andrew's story is one of the most involving STORIES I have read. But it isn't just a story, it is the life of a real man who has given everything for the mission to spread light to a dark land. Just because the Iron Curtin has fallen, dosen't mean that this book is any less relevant today. It will change your faith. Gaurenteed.

Summary: Being Bold for Christ
Review: If you are a Christian, this book will inspire and challenge you to stop living a timid life and start living boldly to share the love of Jesus. He risks his own safety and security to encourage and strenghten other Christians. The risks, however, paled in comparison with the blessings he received from being obedient to God's call. There is no fictional spy novel that can compare to the true story of Brother Andrew's life.

If you are not a Christian, you will also profit from reading this book. Jesus' message was to first love God, then to love others. (Matthew 22:36-40) Brother Andrew puts a modern face on the meaning of these commands. After reading this book you will be forced to consider whether Brother Andrew was a lunatic or whether he was truly called by God to minister to others. The facts of his adventures show the answer.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Recommended Sequel
Review: If you are interested in this book, be sure to also order "For the Love of my Brothers", also by Brother Andrew (with Verne Becker.) (1998 copyright).
