Summary: behold the power of faith
Review: I Say A Prayer for Me is a beautiful book about a horrible subject. Staniece Anderson went from middle class college girl to a hard core, junkie and not only lived to tell the tale but found God and sobriety.

The chapters on her rape at 14, the terrible abuse she recieved at home and her distant, almost absent father show that drugs were not her only problem. Today Ms. Anderson has been drug free for 17 years. She's a writer of unusal talent and grace and has completely turned her life around by Faith.

The word "inspirational" is overused but that's exactly what this beautiful book is. Whether your life is as bad as Ms. Anderson's was or if it's mired in a different kind of misery this book will change the way you see things and if you pay attention to what it says, it will inspire you to change your life. Five stars is not enough. Staniece Anderson has written a ten star book, at the very least.

Summary: Inspired Words
Review: I Say a Prayer for Me is part autobiographical, part self help, and one hundred percent inspirational. Stanice Anderson has shared more than just her life story, but also her personal testimony. She shared her experiences with drug addiction and the lifestyle that goes along with it, as well as her strained relationship with her parents and child. The story chronicles her spiritual journey from addict to the strong Christian that she is today. The book goes far beyond the mere description of events by delving into the emotions related to the decisions she made. Each chapter of the book covers an important emotional lesson, Anderson uses her own life to illustrate a problem and then uses Biblical text to shed light on the lesson she learned. The chapters conclude with a scripture reading and a prayer.

I highly recommend this book because of the variety of subject matter it covers including, relationships with God, parents, children, friends, spouses, and coworkers. Indeed, it has something for everyone. While the format of the book was confusing at times because the experiences were not always presented chronologically, it was still a pleasure to read. Stanice Anderson has truly been blessed and her candor and willingness to share her testimony will be an inspiration for anyone who reads this book.

Summary: I say a Prayer for Me
Review: I started reading this book and I wondered if the author knew me personally. This is a book that told my life story and I felt so connected to the author because I knew that I was not alone in this world, that there was another person who had gone through the same things in life as I had. Ms. Anderson is a fantastic author, sharing all the struggles that she went through when she was in active use of alcohol and drugs. Being a recovering alcoholic and addict myself, it was awesome reading about another afro-american female who has suffered in that vicious world of addiction. I want to thank Ms. Anderson for sharing all the pain she has felt in the past and the joy that she has today. I also want to thank my Higher Power for giving her the ability, courage and the strength to share her life with me. I Say a Prayer for Me is a book that gives hope and encouragement to someone that is struggling with trying to change his or her life. I Say a Prayer for Me is a book that gives you hope and faith and let's you know that by having faith and trust in your Higher Power (for me is my God, Lord and Savior Jesus Christ) all things are possible through prayer and faith. This book should be read by all, not those of us who have struggled with addictions, but anyone who struggles with everyday pressures for living life today in this troubled world. Ms. Anderson, keep writing and thank God for you.

Summary: This book was an inspiration
Review: I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Her life is an inspiration. She taught me to consider God in all things no matter how small I may think it is. Her story of her California trip was great and really taught me to witness to anyone and everyone. This was my selection for my bookclub and I was the toast of the day. We all enjoyed this one.

Summary: Another Author Offers A Review
Review: I was fortunate enough to know Stanice before she wrote this book, when she sent out amazing weekly e-mails about her life. Each e-mail included a prayer and a Bible verse. I, along with many others, looked forward to receiving them. It was no surprise to me that she would write such an inspirational and powerful book. We have lived similar lives but Stanice has a unique framework in which she offers the reader her story of triumph over drugs and low self-esteem. This book will enrich your life, regardless of what your own personal challenge may be--Patrice Gaines, author "Laughing In The Dark"

Summary: A WONDERFUL BOOK...for women of every race!
Review: I was in a bookstore the other day, and asked the Lord..."to show me a good book to read." I was in the Christianity section...browsing along...and then I received the idea of going to the biography section. Stanice Anderson's book was laying on a table and I picked it up. Praise the Lord!!

Stanice Anderson's book is a manuscript, besides being a "good read" ...it is full of Truth. I had so much identification with her struggle with addiction, trusting in the Lord to provide and basic "woman" issues of trust and obedience. I,like Stanice, called out to the Lord in the throes of my addiction to drugs and alcohol. He answered my prayer, 16 years ago.

Her devotionals, prayers and scripture verses at the end of each chapter are "pearls from the Most High."

I would recommend this book to women of all colors. It is a book about redemption, regeneration and renewal of the human spirit through a relationship with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Amen!

Summary: This Battle is not yours¿...
Review: If someone were taking applications for the most depressed and broken spirited, Stanice would definitely get the job. Her feelings about her life worth were void, but God had plans for her. I Say a Prayer for Me, chronicles her faith and jubilation as she struggles to survive and believe.

Going to the Go-Go's was a priority for Stanice. It did not matter that she worked a day job and partied until 2am. Her addiction started innocently, she only wanted to stay awake at work, and No Doz was just the thing. How she went from No Doz to heroine is an incredible story.

I Say a Prayer for Me is filled with devotionals and spiritual boosters after every chapter. You can incorporate them for your personal use. As Stanice's walk with faith was being born, she hit many lows, but we also saw her positives. This piece of non-fiction gives the reader a well-rounded view of addiction and the struggles one can go through. After closing I Say a Prayer for Me, the most prominent message I walked away with was the battles are not ours alone, Yolanda Adams sings "It's the Lord's " and I am a firm believer of that.
