Review: I listen to a lot of recorded books. Generally, I prefer fiction in the mystery, murder, military, and suspense genres. I was completely caught off-guard when I received, as a present, book one of the "Left Behind" series. After a bit of a slow start, I was so hooked on the story that I listened to the entire three tapes nearly straight through. Only very special books keep me glued to my tape player like that.

This book deals with the biblical end-times (Armageddon, Rapture, etc.) and the authors are true to biblical text. Unlike most books on the same shelves as "Left Behind," this is a wonderfully crafted work that tells the story from the viewpoint of those left behind to deal with the end of the world. The suspense and storyline should appeal to readers and listeners not generally attracted to bible-based literature.

I have to admit that after listening to the first book, I simply have to purchase the remaining seven volumes.
