Rating: Summary: Left Behind & Tribulation Force Review: I received this book and the Tribulation Force as a Christmas present. I have thoroughly enjoyed reading them and I have ordered the rest of the series. LaHaye and Jenkins are excellent story tellers. They have written the characters so people can easily relate to them. This story really makes you think about what is to come.
Rating: Summary: Witnessing material Review: If all you're looking for is a witnessing text, this novel is fine. But if you're looking to have your mind AND soul stimulated, I suggest more challenging reading. The powerful suspense thriller, THE LAST DAY, by Glenn Kleier is probably the most acclaimed in this genre. It is thought provoking spirituality that alternately frightens, enlightens and entertains.
Rating: Summary: good concept average writing Review: In my limited reading, i have found very few books (outside of the limitless variations of the bible itself) that attempt to put a real-life swing on the concept of the apocalypse. From that standpoint, this book was a brilliant concept. On that basis, it is a good read, especially for anyone trying to get a feel for the real-life implications of an apocalypse since the description of this in the bible is somewhat abstract. The actual writing of the book however is not very gripping. I had to push through reading many segments of it. It is very predictable, wordy (like me :) and tends to assume the common one-sided theme that permeates a lot of religions. It begins to introduce a political play with the subtle appearance of the antichrist. This play is interesting but the concept seems not fully incubated and suffers from overt magic sometimes. Because of the writing style, this book may have a narrow acceptance circle. while it carries an appeal for those of the christian faith, it may not appeal to those who are not familiar or are familiar but not emotional about it but if you are looking for something different from crime fiction to read, i would recommend it.

Rating: Summary: God's truth Review: This book is easy to read. Despite the fact that it is fiction, it's based on the truth. With bible prophesy, fictional, likable characters carry the story without extensive detailing.
Rating: Summary: Left Behind Review: Being a Christian who has struggled and walked a very thin line this book touched me. The Authors Tim Lahaye and Jerry B. Jenkins wrote this book very well. It pulled me in and would not let me go. There is excitement and romance and terror and reasurance in this book. I feel like I am part of the caractors world even though I will not be here for the last seven years of this earths life as we see it now. This book is helping me understand the end times and making me quest for more knowledge on what I can do to not be here for those last years. This book has hepled me in understand things in the Bible that was hard to understand on my own. I not only love this book but I also love the books that have followed after this one. I say thank you to the authors who saw how important it is to reach non believers and spread the love and joy of Jesus Christ.
Rating: Summary: Deepened my understanding of Revelations! Review: This book is a Biblically accurate, fictional account of the initial events in the "endtimes". It relates the most important aspects of the Biblical teachings in present day jargons and context. I found myself unable to put it down and immediately ordered the next book in the series. Interestingly, I can identify with every aspect of one of the characters as I am an airline captain. This book is an easy read and, yet, spell-binding. A must buy for every Christian or as a gift to a Christian or non-Christian friend.
Rating: Summary: Left Behind #1 Review: This book is great....I can hardly put it down...It pulls you in and you have to read the next one so you know what happens...I would recomend that any Christian strong or on the edge should read this book it would help you figure out if your on the edge that you need to jump on the ban wagon
Rating: Summary: A great read Review: This book is DEFINATLY worth reading. Although I don't consider myself a Christian, I have to admit, this book was one of the best I've ever read. Some of it so scarry I found my self, in the wee hours of the morning, chewing what was left of my fingernails. I was also impressed with the refrences to Revelations. but... The authors should have made the characters just a little more realistic. For instance, if I thought the rapture was manifesting, I don't think I would find myself worring about my job as much as Buck and Raymond. I think I would devote all of my time praying, reading the Bible, and storing a nice lot of food and water in a BIG underground shelter :)
Rating: Summary: A Book for People Who Hate Reading Because It's "Hard" Review: I must preface my remarks with the fact that I am an atheist, and therefore a little more than skeptical about Rapture claims. However, I have read most of Michael Crichton's works, and although I am equally skeptical of some of his fictional "science" , his novels never fail to entertain me. Left Behind reads as if it was written by a computer program specially designed to write "novels" for the masses of people who hate reading. Every character is one-dimensional and entirely predictable. Every line in the book is used to advance the idea that fundamentalist Christians are entirely sane, and not that members are choosing religion over psychiatric help. Every plot "twist" was predictable from page one. This book is not interesting. The authors could have done much better had they utilized the short story format (the story could have been told in 10 pages, easily). The story's inspiration, The Revelation of St. John the Divine, is barely 10 pages. These people believe that the Bible is the "word of God" -- why take 10 pages of "God's word" and expand it into a mind-numbing 500 pages? I noticed that this novel is part one in a series. It's worse than I thought -- at least six books in the series so far, with no end in sight -- the rapture has already passed, we're being tortured.
