Summary: It's okay
Review: I like to read books that paint a picture of where we are headed and what we can expect to happen. I don't mind dark visions of the future. There have been many dark periods in our past and no reason to expect different in the years to come. I stayed with the story and found it entertaining but completely implausible in construction. I have read "Transfer" by Jerry Furland, "1984" by George Orwell, and "Unintended Consequences" by John Ross. Amy of these, most especially Furland, will satisfy the demand for believability and probability. I think these "Left Behind" books interpretation of biblical prophecy is just that-the author's interpretation.

Summary: Best of its kind
Review: I have read many religious fiction books by authors such as Peretti and Burkett about the end times and still see this as the best. I am currently reading THE INDWELLING by this duo. Many of the religious fiction end time works are a little far-fetched for even a Believer to take hold of. But I was completely engrossed with this book. The characters are REAL, the setting is REAL, the plot is REAL, and most importantly the doctrine is REAL. It definetely kept me on the edge of my seat.

Summary: Can't put the books down!
Review: I read books every day, and I can honestly say that I have read 2 in the series overnight. I can't seem to read them fast enough to see what is going to happen next. I avoid suspenseful books, but all my family members and a lot of friends are reading the series, so I started on the first one, and am now on #6. I reccommend them to EVERYONE. I like the characters and the 'cliff hanging" approach of the writers. As Revelation is difficult to understand, I think they have done a very good job of describing the events.

Summary: Can't wait to read the next one!
Review: Well, it seems that either you love this book or hate it! Most reviews are 1 star or 5 stars. There must be more 5's however, since the average is still 4.5. This book and the subsequent ones in the series are books that elicit a response in everyone, of one kind or another!

I just finished Left Behind and I'm going to try to read all of the books in the series this summer (as of now, there are 7). I plan to read them one right after the other, so maybe starting late isn't such a problem.

This book was quick reading and I felt that Jerry Jenkins did a great job developing his characters and he wove his story around the Revelation theology outlined by Tim LaHaye. I've heard that there is a video out of the video in the book - when the pastor of the church makes a video before the Rapture and leaves it for those who are left behind to explain what has happened. This would be interesting to see!

This book is fast-reading and is very hard to put down! It's very thought-provoking and it makes the Great Commission given to us by Jesus all the more urgent:

(Mat 28:19-20 NIV) Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."

I am looking forward to reading Tribulation Force.

If anyone is interested in reading about the Biblical basis for what happens in the book in regard to the Rapture of Christ's Church and the End Times, you might want to read a book called "Are We Really Living in the End Times?" by the same authors as the Left Behind series.

I praise God that this series has had such an impact on people - they have a website:

www.leftbehind.com

You can find stories there of people turning their lives around and making decisions to trust Christ as a result of reading these books.

May the Lord use this series to make Christians realize the importance of telling people the Good News and also helping us make sure that we're right with God as no one knows the day or the hour.

Summary: ~unbelievable~
Review: This book was unbelievably enchanting. I was a moderate Christian before reading, now I'm a full believer. For anyone having doubts about Jesus, I highly recommend this book. I got lost in the characters, and often times I felt like I was right there with them. A great read!

Summary: Looking Forward To The Rest
Review: I just finished this book and must say that it's he best novel I ever read. Ive also read Pat Robertson's novel"The End of The Age" which was good but was from the post trib (rapture doesn't happen till after Christ's 2nd coming)standpoint which may turn off a bunch of people.I am looking forward to reading "Tribulation Force" and the other books in the series as well as seeing the movie

Summary: Great Book
Review: This book really gets to the heart of Jesus' second coming. While I truly believe that this is only a novel, and it should never be seen as more than a novel, it gives a "real" interpretation of the Book of Revalation. I guarentee that this book will atleast get you thinking, and perhaps make you think twice about not taking your religion seriously

Summary: couldn't leave it behind
Review: This is one book that I couldn't put down. Beyond the fact that it was easy to read through simple, uncomplicated verbage and larger print, I was riveted by the subject itself - revelations -- and hungry to learn more about the Bible and explore it's interpretations. If it brings the secular world closer to God by raising awareness of Jesus Christ and his message for mankind, then barring literary accolades, it has been a great success. I am looking forward to continuing in the series and am halfway through Tribulation Force now. Diane Vulcan

Summary: ~wow~
Review: This was a great book. The character "Buck" reminded me a lot of myself before I became a Christian. This book really is for everyone, not just believers.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Good Fiction?
Review: Thiss is the one that will hook you into the series. I've read all but "The Indwelling"(just strarting) and they all make for interesting reading. This is one of the best in the series, maybe the best. No need to preach here but the books do a pretty good job of it. 1215 reviews and counting, so pick em. It is a quick read so you can get through it fast, it'll definitely have you thinking.
