Rating: Summary: Series is an eye opener Review: I personally found the whole series uplifting and unique. I am what they call a "lapsed catholic". I had been going through some sort of spiritual crisis when I happened upon Left Behind. It started to make me soul searc about my faith- in Christ and God, not in church or a papal hierarchy. Perhaps some of this is a little far flung but it who really knows what will happen, right? All I know is I don't want to be Left Behind and this series has helped motivate me to find my faith again. You can't look at these books as a new bible or take it literally. It can be read for pleasure and it will definitely give you something to think about. Go for it- read it. Its worth it.
Rating: Summary: Left Behind Review: I found this book so poorly written that I threw it in the garbage. I have never done this before. The premise sounded good but ... Don't waste your time or money
Rating: Summary: Good beginning, but better ending! Review: I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised. This book was recommended to me by many people and I was reluctant to start. I am glad I did not let my own expectations keep me from enjoying this book. I liked the character development. With an unbelievably powerful backdrop the characters react and live realistically. Strong and interesting plot lines made this book more fun to read. This book gained rapid momentum and with it the ante was raised. The last hundred pages are very exciting and inevitably sets up the ground-work for the next book. My eyes were glued to the ending! I am anxious to start the next one and see where it takes me.
Rating: Summary: Wonderful Review: A wonderfully book, written to accomadate all educational levels. IT truly puts the second coming into modern day circumstances. It is written not only for Christians but for non-believers as well. Some people fail to relize however that it is only one interpretation of Revelation and there are many many different theories and interpretations.
Rating: Summary: Will that be me? Review: As a christian, many of us do not think about what will happen a Jesus returns to rapture his church, even the ones of us who are "Sunday Christians" consider ourselves safe. This book has opened the idea of what would happen if the rapture were to occur today or tommorrow, would you be ready? If the answer to this question was yes, then get ready for an exciting read only to find yourself praying for the characters, as many of them will remind you of people know and love in your own life. If the answer is no, then prepare for a bumpy ride and to question many "fundamental truths" you hold. As for the "Sunday Christians", the character Bruce Barnes will be like looking in a mirror. Either way the series is sure to bring many questions to mind.
Rating: Summary: Story about the last days of mankind Review: This book tells about the last days of mankind; specifically about the rapture when genuine Christians are taken out of this world to be with Christ. The tribulation period begins, as the Bible refers to it. "Left Behind" shows us that it's no fun to be left behind, and tells this biblical principles in a story of the main characters. The tension keeps on going, from page to page and it's a highly interesting read. It's time to consider a few things in your life. Another book that is highly recommended as it deals very realistically with the nearing end of humanity and the threat of supernukes in the Far East, is the powerful megathriller "The Consultant" by Alec Donzi.
Rating: Summary: Filled with the Spirit of John the Revelator Review: Authors LaHaye and Jenkins, inspired by the theology of The Bible, attempt, and in my mind suceed in helping all of us to wisdom. It was King Solomon who wrote in his Book of Proverbs that "the fear of God" is the first step to real wisdom! Their interpretation of the Revelation is fearful and awe-inspiring; and who's to say is not accurate. And yet the true love of the holy Spirit often overcomes the reader to the point of tears. Extremely hard to put down. Negative reviews remind one a great deal of most of those "left behind."
Rating: Summary: Powerful start to a powerful series. Review: This book is a great book for chrisians and will probably always be a classic. I loved it, it kept me busy while I was at a bording school last year. I don't care what any other review says, this series will always be my favorite series.
Rating: Summary: This is one of the true great Books series ever written Review: The entire series is true to the bible itself and the scripture, I believe all who read this book will come to realize the truth that the rapture will happen, all of the other series preach of god not leaving everyone behind, when Jesus raptures his church it will be the true believers, this book tells of it all in a way never before written. The characters are lifelike in how they act and what they do, I give it two thumbs up on the plot, theme, and the way it was written.
Rating: Summary: better than i thought Review: I always have to have a book. I've been reading all my life and have never read a "religous" book. I picked this one up not expecting to like it or even finish it. I was amazed! It is very easy to read and very enjoyable. It is NOT a scare tactic book, but it does make you look at your life and make some hard choices. The characters are believable and the story is just as exciting and full of suspence as others i've read and enjoyed. have since seen the movie. It is a good movie in its own right, but pales in comparison to the book (don't they all?) I will definately read the rest of the series and enjoy them all.
