Summary: Left Behind Series, the best books ever written
Review: Oh my. Let me first start out by telling you that I have read many many books. Everytime I finish reading a good book, I swear that that was "the best book ever written" but NOTHING, and I mean NOTHING compares to the books in the Left Behind Series. I can't put them down. I read them on the bus, on the train, in the car, on the toilet, in bed, outside on the front stoop, while I'm eating dinner...They are just that good! I recommend them to everyone. I am only 15 years old but they interest me, and my cousin, aunt, and mother read them before I did so I guess you could say Im reading Hand-Me-Downs..lol but that's besides the point. Besides these books being true, they are also entertaining. Bottom line, GO OUT AND GET THE BOOKS!

Summary: A Fresh Look
Review: My dad bought me this book for Christmas 2000. At first, I was not really thrilled with his choice of a gift. However, once I started reading the book, I found that it was quite difficult to put back down. My parents have gone to church for as long as I can remember, but I do not. After reading this book, I started to think about where I would be if this actually happened here, today. I have still not made up my mind, but it has made me think about life and religion and I have started to put a lot of things in my life in perspective. In fact, I have just finished "The Indwelling" and am getting ready to start "The Mark" while waiting for the next in line. I believe that the author(s) of this series have done a fabulous job. This first book in the series does a fine job of pulling the reader into the lives of the main characters, while at the same time making you think about what decisions you would make if in the same place as the characters in the book. I can not wait to get started on the next book.

Summary: The start of the best book series ever
Review: When I saw all of these "Left Behind" books coming out about two years ago, I decided to read them. I checked out this one from the church library, I guess Im lucky it was in, because this book was already well loved. I could not put it down. I read it in two days. I loved it. So I started reading the series.

This book started a worldwide phenomonon. Any book that can do that has got to be worthwile. You can totally connect with the characters emotions and feelings even though the day of judgement has not happened yet. This book has excellent writing, contrary to some people's opinions. They may not have the ultimate writing skills, but I have seen worse writing in college already.

Since then, I have read every single left behind book and even started the kid's series and Im in college. The kid series is just as good. If you are staying away from those just because you are an adult, I suggest you read them anyway, even if it takes you only a couple hours to read.

These books can change lives. It changed mine. I have since become a better Christian in my opinion. I don't want to be Left Behind, and I don't want to see you left behind, either.

Summary: Illogical and uninspired
Review: This is the first in a very long (I think there a 10 so far!!) series of books that tell of the end of the world as foretold in the book 'Revelations' of the bible.
If you took the bible's apocalyptic prophecy. Put an unimaginitve spin on it. Added some 2 dimensional characterizations and truely ridiculous plot lines, (the russians launch an all out nuclear attack against israel because the israelis have developed a means to fertilize deserts, does that make sense to you?) then add some thinly veiled preaching and you have this book.

Having said that I found my curiosity helped me through this book. I was ignorant of the book of Revelations predictions. I was curious enough to see how events would unfold to keep reading thru the 1st 3 books. But the scenario unfolds painfully slowly if you find the characters dull and unbelievable.

In the 3rd book many pages are devoted to explaining things that I had already read in the previous books, that was very tedious. After the 3rd book my curiousity about the prophecies was not enough to overcome my boredom.

I have found "The Christ Clone Trilogy" much more enjoyable.

Summary: Tim Lahaye and Jerry Jenkins shouldn't quit their day job
Review: As fiction, this book was horrible. The characters are one-demensional, the plot was predictible, the dialogue is bad, and the interior monologues are worse (By the end of the book i was ready to feed it to the paper shredder if one more character experienced a sudden urge to convert to christianity for no apparent reason.).
As theology it was only slightly (very slightly) better. It was simplistic and way, way out to the right. If you want decent theological insight, read something by CS Lewis (the perelandra trilogy or the screwtape letters).

Summary: Technical, Intelligent People especially READ THIS
Review: ~I was astounded by how much I could emphasize with the line that said something like -- "I have an Ivy-league degree, I know better than to believe in God".

That describes my life until the last few years.

This book helped to cement for me the truth in the existence of the higher power -- the omniscient God. Yes, I have evolved from admitting the existence of a higher power, to naming that power as God.

This book helped me to understand the prophesies in the bible especially that~~ most intriguing chapter, Revelations.

My only regret, is that there were not more bible references (chapter and verse), but it is only a novel.

What a great way to introduce the public to End Time theories.

A MUST READ for all with either a curiosity, or a fervent belief.

Thank you, God.~

Summary: Great read, gripping, as the rest of the series!
Review: I write this review after having just finished "The Mark", the latest in the series, and waiting for "Desecration" to be released. Ok, if you're looking for some lofty theological textbook, you won't find it here. But if you're like me, and are looking for suspense, likeable characters, gripping storytelling and a good, entertaining read, you've hit the jackpot. I guess my only difficulty, as another pointed out, is the number of minor characters, which can sometimes be challenging to keep track of, especially while waiting for the next book! You don't need to be Christian to enjoy reading this, but be aware that the authors will be pursuading you via this series to rethink your position. It seems many of the negative reviews came from people expecting deeper theological writing, and more "realism"--but, who's to say what can or can't happen in the End Times? With God, everything is possible! If you want a book which will keep you reading for hours at a time, and enjoy the writings of Dean Koontz, Robin Cook, and Michael Crichton, for example, you'll probably enjoy this series. If you're not Christian, but can suspend your belief long enough to enjoy Sci Fi novels and movies, then you shouldn't have a problem with the authors' vision of how Revelation could be played out. Enjoy!

Summary: Surprising
Review: I started reading the series because the girls in my office were so impressed with it. I am not exactly the religious type, but I have discovered you do not have to be to like the book. The author(s) wrote this book and the series, I feel, to grasp attention to believers and non-believers. Anyhow, I love to read and have not been able to find a really good book lately so I am thrilled that there are more in the series to come. All ingredients to make a great story have definitely been mixed into this novel; Passion, Adventure, Mystery, Suspense, etc.. I would encourage any one who enjoys reading to dive into this one!

Summary: Couldn't get past bad writing
Review: I consider myself a pretty tolerant reader, but I didn't get past the first 30 pages of this book because it was SO BADLY written. The dialogue is inane, the characters not realistic, and the plot unbelievable. For instance, one character lives in a trailer park and usually her parents get drunk and rowdy on the Friday night dances. One Friday, a preacher comes and says a few words before the music, and Vicki's father is on his knees with tears streaming down his face, ready to accept Jesus into his heart. I'm insulted by the high-handed writing in this book to try to convert the sinners of the world...before it's too late. Well, it's too late to get my time back from reading this book, but it's not too late for you shoppers. Don't buy this book.

Summary: Excellent!
Review: I absolutely loved this book! It grabs you from the very beginning and it takes you on a ride that you'll NEVER forget. If this book doesn't get you to think about turning your life over to Christ, I don't think ANY BOOK, other than the Bible, will! I loved how, even after people realized that practically entire churches had people who were "missing", they STILL refused to believe that what the Bible fortold in Revelations came to fruition! I thought this book was very exciting and I loved the two main characters, Buck Williams and Rayford Steele. A highly recommended novel for Christians and non-Christians who are looking for a good reason to become a Christian!
