Summary: What a wonderful time to be a Christian lover of literature!
Review: For so many years, a Christian's only real option to read quality Christian literature was to read the marevelous C.S. Lewis. I feel blessed in the the last couple of years with the outpouring of quality literature now available. What's more, the different books are all very different. Left Behind is a wonderful introduction to the theology behind the End Times and a great series for all ages. We All fall down is a great book for more mature, intellegent Christians who wsnt to explore the individual ramifications of the End Times and the one on one relationship of a man who has fallen away from God. The Christ Clone Trilogy is a thrilling, Tom Clancey like look at these events, full of unexpected twists and turns. I know some people like to argue the various merits of these books as compared to each other, but I think they are all worth reading and feel lucky to finally have such a wide variety of GREAT Christian literature available.

Summary: One of my favorite books....
Review: I aways considered myself a Christian and always figured I would go to heaven. But this book made me think "Am I truly a believer or am I just doing what I feel are the minimum requirements to go to heaven." This story moved me so much I ran to the store and bought the rest in the series. Although I do agree that there is a lack of character development, I still feel for the characters. It also takes a rather G rated view of the Tribulation and doesn't go into much deatail of the horrors. I always figured this time would be bloodier and more terrifying than portrayed in this book. But I feel the authors do this so everyone can read this without be spooked away by the descriptions of gore. And, although Im absolutely convinced Soul Harvest could have been condensed to 100 pages and then become part of Apollyon, these books are DEFINETLY worth it. It takes biblical facts and puts it into a very believable plot. The authors do fictionalize some events but, Hey, it is a story. All Christians and non-Christians will love it. Just go into the book realizing it is a view from two respected, Christian authors writing a STORY based on biblical facts and directed at an audience that excludes no one (even the young) and you will love it. Dont take it to seriously, but let it also make you more aware of what the Revelations really say and how they might affect you.

Summary: Intriguing Interpretation but Poor Writing
Review: I have to admit that I've read all of the books in the series because I'm interested in how the authors interpret latter days prophecy. However, these are some of the poorest written books I've read. These books are written for, perhaps, the sixth grade reading level. Of course, I know many children are reading heavy classics by that age, so I'm sure I'm being generous.
I think that if you're starving for wholesome, Christian-minded books you might enjoy this series.

Summary: Good One
Review: I read this book after a recommendation by a friend. Once I started reading it, I could not put it down. The story is amazing, from beginning to the end. My only complaint is that it's quite pricey.

Summary: Cass Per. 2, Analysis of Characterization in Left Behind
Review: One of the many great attributes of this novel is the character development. Of all books I've read, no other book has given me as much concern for the character as Left Behind has. I go on reading about Ray and Chloe and just hope that things turn out for the best for them. Good examples can be found all over the book, there's always a story being told behind Ray's children, his wife's love for the church, or Chloe's college life. The other characters are also developed superbly, and the writing makes you believe that these people actually walk the Earth. It is done so well that I feel like I could move to Chicago and actually look these people up and meet them, and hold a discussion face-to-face. Another interesting factor in the character development is how Carpathia slowly becomes more and more involved with the main protagonists, and how he slowly begins to effect them as people. However, no matter how antagonistic Carpathia is, the obvious conflict in this novel is Rayford's quest to become christianized. Once he has accomplished this, I feel the pace will quickly pick up.

Tim LaHaye and Jerry Jenkins have done a SUPERB job with this novel, and I am eager to move on to the next books in the series.

Summary: Inspiring
Review: I felt that this book was rivoting! It was great how it had a source to back up all of it's information and plot. I loved going back and forth between the characters, and I am glad that it was on such an important issue. Hopefully people will stop and take the time to read this book, it is no wonder why it is a best seller. The Bible is a totally accurate 'historic document'. It is amazing how so many people from all over the world who contributed into the Bible, thousands of years ago, and how their versions were all exactly the same(99.5% for all you mathematical people, out of 24,000 New testament manuscripts)! Think about it, if something like this really did happen, wouldn't you want to be prepared instead of left behind? There is so much fullfillment in being a Christian. But if you still are not convinced, I highly suggest that you read, The Case For Christ by Lee Strobel, with so much accurate evidence for all your skeptic questions. On that note, I felt that this book was inspiring and exciting, as I'm sure you will too!

Summary: Left Behind
Review: I am a born again Christian, from the UK, and I have read all of the books in the left behind series to date. Part of me cannot put them down, more of me wishes I had never picked one up.

As a Christian, I find the stories compelling just to see how the authors interpret the prophecies included in the Bible regarding the end times - although I have to keep reminding myself that there is more than one view on how these events will unfold (or are unfolding).

My interest in the novels ends there.

Unfortunately I find the narrative rambling, and the dialogue appallingly trashy which is extremely disappointing and frustrating.

The first 7 books could easily be distilled into one good book with some more careful writing. This edited version would include developing the characters into something more believable, less "one dimensional" and most importantly of all, much less twee. I think the books include far too much sentimentality for us Brits.

Having said all of that (hopefully people will have stopped reading before they reach this hypocracy), I will no doubt be buying book 8, so there must be something about the books - or perhaps I am just a glutton for punishment?

Summary: A good book overall...
Review: A good book overall. But there are few points that don't sound too logical. Why would Russia launch the air strike against Israel just for some chemical formula? They would probably steal it from the doctor. Work underground but not openly attack another country. Supposed that there are someone else who studies Bible, when someone like Nicolae appeared, wouldn't they at least doubt the acts of this guy? Seems like the group who doubted Nicolae's act is the Tribulation Force. Not even the leaders of the UN and other countries? These are the two points that I'm not convienced. However this books made me re-think my act as a Christian. Would I be one of those left behind? There are tasks that Jesus Christ wanted from us, Christian. And that is what I need to do from now on!

Summary: True Reflection of Fundamentalists
Review: I would recommend that everyone read this book. It accurately portrays what a large portion of fundamentalists believe. It expresses the sentiments of those who attend universities like Bob Jones University. It is clear from many of the reviews that quite a few fundamentalists think that the book represents what is in Revelations. Let me elaborate

Many people criticized the book for being illogical. However, it merely reflects what many fundamentalists believe. It shows the fundamentalist Christian version of the end of the world to be totally illogical. Countries like China would have virtually no one left behind. France being almost entirely agnostic would have little effect. Only in a country that is partially Christian would there be much of an effect. The book never tries to be logical.

Many people criticized the book for being anti anything that is not fundamentalist Christian. The book shows that fundamentalists have anti-Semitic, anti Catholic, anti-UN sentiments. This is an accurate reflection of the sentiments of many fundamentalists.

Many people criticized the book for being preachy. The sermons in the book are incredibly humorous. They sound just like countless AM radio stations across the country. Many of the sermons with minor alterations could have been Saturday Night Live sketches. Ironically, there is little talk of helping others and general kindness - just a lot of talk about sin and salvation.

Many people criticized the book for having one-dimensional characters. These people have to base their thoughts on the teachings of one book. These people do not ask any reasonable questions. They certainly have never read any history of the Christian Church. How could they not be one-dimensional?

So if you think fundamentalists should be portrayed as illogical, self-righteous, one-dimensional people, you should read this book.
