Rating: Summary: As an evangelistic tract, this book FAILS. Review: Sorry to burst your bubbles, but if you Christians expect us to be convinced by this book, think again. This book is little more than an attempt to scare people into religious faith, and in that regard, most street preachers are more persuasive than this book.Strip away all the hype, all the contrived plot devices, all the fantastic imaginings, and you are left with endless unanswered questions: Is belief in God to be predicated merely on personal, subjective experience, or must I wait for a cataclysmic "Independence Day" kind of event? How do you have any certainty as to the identity (or benevolence) of your God? How do you ascertain the authenticity and reliability of your Bible? I will not be browbeaten into believing this kind of empty propaganda. If the authors had written something more coherent and compelling, like Umberto Eco's The Name of the Rose, I might be more persuaded.
Rating: Summary: BELIEVABLE FICTIONALIZATION OF FUTURE HISTORY! Review: What a rush to read something that matches my own pre-trib beliefs about the Rapture of the Church. I was fascinated with the simple text that mirrors scripture when it came to the actual disappearances. One second people were there...the next they weren't. Before writing this review I checked out those listed already and found it very interesting to read the few critical reviews that panned this book. The reviewer with a Doctorate of Divinity reminded me of Bruce in the book. Educational accomplishment means absolutely nothing when it comes to knowing the truth. Likewise, the reviewers who felt Christianity has too narrow a viewpoint don't seem to grasp the obvious fact that what we believe is what God said. It's not something we make up to feel good about ourselves. Just the opposite! We are grateful that a kind and loving God had/has mercy on us and provided a way for us to not be left behind. This book (series) is a wake-up call to all Christians to share the truth while there's still time to influence those who at this time would be left behind if the Rapture occurred today. Even so, Lord Jesus, come!
Rating: Summary: This book was awesome!!!!!! Review: I loved "Left Behind" and I immediately got ahold of "Tribulation Force." Still waiting for "Nicolae" but I may not be able to wait until the library gets it!!! Can't wait until the last four and the movie comes out. These books are awesomely surreal. I'm thirteen years old, and it really, really made me think. Keep up the good work, you guys!!! And hurry with the last four, because some of us might not be around to read them.
Rating: Summary: Could not put it down-must read the next book in the series! Review: Once I started reading this book, I could not put it down. I was thrilled to discover it is the first book in a seven book series. I had to buy the next two released books immediately! I am anxiously awaiting the August 98 release of the fourth book. I will be on the waiting list for this one. I tell everyone I see to read these books. Not only are they wonderfully entertaining to read, but they make you assess your life and faith. They have made me renew my efforts to see that the people I know and love wont be "Left Behind."
Rating: Summary: The one thing that turned my life around Review: I read this amazing piece of work on one of the hardest parts of my christian walk. I say that anyone who believes that christ is the son of god should read this, and get spiritualy supported. I would like to thank the authors of this book for possibly saving my own soul. I cannot wait until the next one comes out END
Rating: Summary: Excellent Review: This is a wonderful book. Certainly makes one think. I had a hard time putting these books down. I am now on the 3rd book, Nicolae & it is as exciting as the first..Left Behind & Tribulation Force. I can only say that I can hardly wait till August when the next book comes out.
Rating: Summary: Poorly Written Propaganda Review: What I was hoping to be a gripping fictional account of the rapture turned out to be a poorly written piece of propaganda. Seeing others review it as well written is frustrating. The writing is flimsy and disjointed...not worthy of an honorable mention in a high school writing contest. A book with this plot could have been a spectacular work with a fresh view of Christian beliefs...instead I see it as just a cheap vehicle for an elitist and arrogant message. The idea that a great portion of the Earth's population will be "left behind" is, in my opinion, absurd. However, I respect that this concept is embraced by many. I also suspect that the very wide margins, large print and more than ample spacing between lines were used to add size and physical depth to the book...to make it appear more than it is.
Rating: Summary: Great Book and easy to read Review: The book was a wonderful intorduction to the tribulation. After reading I couldn't help thinking When Israel was going to be attacked. The authors did a great job in weaving biblical prophecy with present day politics. Amazing how the people were willing to follow such a dynamic leader. Sure hope the pre-tribs are correct.
Rating: Summary: If you only read one book this year, read this one. Review: I started reading this book yesterday evening and I stayed awake all night reading it. I just simply could not stop reading. I am a Christian and know the facts about the Rapture and subsequent Tribulation, but this book made it a real, human event. I know I will not be "Left Behind", and now I am more commited to bear witness and lead souls to the saving knowlege of Jesus Christ than I have ever been in my life.
Rating: Summary: Very Biblically Accurate and Very Interesting Review: Left Behind is Very Bibically Accurate and Very Interesting! I only wish that more Scripture References were given to authenticate the storyline for those who are not Biblically knowledgeable.
