Rating: Summary: This is a very good book Review: Anyone who is interested in the book of Revelation should read this book, as well as its sequels. You will love it. It is very hard-to-put-down.
Rating: Summary: The best book I have ever read! Review: I don't understand how anyone could call this book boring! I am only 13 years old and have yet to find a better book. In this book Rayford Steele's wife and youngest child dissappear. It is a deffinate suspense thriller worth reading! My mom found this book in a catalog and I was just facinated by the discription in there. I read this book and the other 3(Tribulation Force, Nicolie, and Soul Harvest) and I now cannot wait for the next one to come out this year. This is a must read. I will warn you that the events in this book are true. Alot of people say that this book is not worth reading bacause it is just fiction. That is semi-true. It never says in the Bible whether or not we will be taken before, after, or during the tribulation. It also doen't discribe in real detale what will happen. Alot of other men have interpreted the book of Revelations many other ways also. Only God knows what will happen to the letter! This book is ment as a wittnessing tool and I recommend loaning it to a non-Christian friend!
Rating: Summary: Most spell-binding page turner my family has ever read!! Review: Everyone is curious about Revelation and it is one of the most difficult writings to understand. The "Left Behind" series brings the prophecy of Revelation to life through memorable characters and makes it understandable to nonscholars by putting it into that personal perspective that makes all learning easier. I had not zealously devoured a Christian series since Bodie Thoene's Zion Covenant and Zion Chronicles, which I also read as soon as a book was released and then waited for what seemed forever for the next one. I now find myself eagerly anticipating the release of each new book in Lahaye and Jenkins's series. Even though we know the ultimate outcome, these volumes keep us on edge to see what will happen to very realistic characters. Keep the volumes coming--quickly!!
Rating: Summary: Best Book I have ever read!!! Review: I have to say 5 stars are NOT enough stars for an amazing book like this. Anyone skeptical about reading this masterpiece should not have to think twice! It does not matter if you are Christian, or non-Christian. Everyone should read this. I personally read it in 3 days and I am NOT a fast reader. I could not put it down! Some nights I was up until 2 am reading it! I am now a good ways into Tribulation Force. It is also VERY good. I would encourage anyone and everyone to read this no matter what your background, no matter what your religion!
Rating: Summary: Thought Provoking but Verbose Review: I enjoyed learning about Bible's last book, Revelations, through the writing of Tim F. Lahaye and Jerry B. Jenkins, and I look forward to reading the rest of the series. Unfortunately, I felt that the book was too long - the book could have been half as long and still have been as convincing. Additionally, the writing was over simplified with a few syntactical errors. However, if you are aiming to reach the largest crowd as possible, I guess you cannot simplify it enough.
Rating: Summary: A wonderful book for everyone to read! Review: I recieved Left Behind as a gift for my birthday from a friend who's a wonderful devout Christian. I read the back and thought, this looks interesting. Once I really got into it, I couldn't put it down! It has a wonderful way of explaining what the Bible outlines as the requirements for rapture, and what will come after the Rapture during Tribulation. I highly recommend it and I already have a large list of people I'm going to ask to read this book!
Rating: Summary: Captivating! Review: I concur with other reviews of this excellent book. And maybe I am nitpicking, but didn't anyone else think that it could have been typeset differently and thus have been a regular-sized (and less expensive) paperback? There's an awful lot of margin on those pricey pages!
Rating: Summary: Positively Eye-Opening Review: Left Behind gripped me from the very start. It does not take very long to realize that there are strong messages in this book, ones that may seem frightening to some people. The book is a fictional account of the beginning of the last seven years of our world. It is based on a series of interpretations of the final book of the New Testament, Revelation. I read Revelation several years ago, finding it quite mystical at times and head-scratching at others. This book ties Revelation together with other scripture, all the while telling a story that is both interesting and lively. The New Testament warns us that we will not know the moment when all of this is going to be triggered. This book, for me then, was timely reading. As a Catholic, the doctrine of the Church teaches you not to sin, to be charitable, to pray, to have remorse, to repent, etc. Sermons in the Church are geared toward these issues and ideas. The end of the world, Christ's Second Coming, is not often broached. It should be. This book hits the subject matter dead-on. It roadmaps what things are important regarding the spirit. I highly recommend it to those who have already accepted Christ as their Saviour as well as to those who have neglected their spirit. However, it is particularly important that those who have dabbled in their faith read this book...NOW!
Rating: Summary: This book will impact your life like no other!!! Review: If you have ever wanted a series of books to touch your life and those around you this series is a must read. Even though it is a fictous novel it is based on truth. Please read and share with those you love.
Rating: Summary: excellent fictionalized account of 'some real bad stuff' Review: this book was recomended to me by a work colleague, and once I started reading, I couldn't hardly stop! There was very good use of the main characters (and their development) to resemble "everyman/woman". True Biblical info was laid out in a reasonable format: not too gushy, not too intense ! can't wait for the rest of the series ! I believe that this book may certainly alter the position of many sunday saints, if they continue to read the others in the series.
