Rating: Summary: What this series says about what we should be doing now Review: Here's a thought about Christian fiction in general and this series in particular. A few years ago an article in Christianity Today reviewed the state of contemporary Christian fiction, and it made this perceptive observation. There are two major genres of Christian fiction: historical romances and end-times thrillers. In other words, Christians either have a sentimental, nostalgic look back to the past, where things may have been simpler or "more Christian," or they look forward to an apocalyptic future where God stomps out all his enemies. Unfortunately, this means that Christians are not doing much critical thinking about how to engage the world in the present.Clearly this series falls in the latter category. I hope and pray that all the fans of this series, which of course are legion, are not simply gleefully and passively awaiting God's judgment on unbelievers but rather are spurred on to Christian discipleship, obedience and evangelism in the present. Is passing around copies of these books the way to do that? I'm not sure, since it seems like LaHaye and Jenkins are primarily preaching to the choir. Christians need to think carefully about how best to present the good news of Jesus to the world in today's present setting, not some speculative future-tense scenario.
Rating: Summary: Holds attention, exciting, fast action & reading Review: The story is delivered at a great pace, exciting similarity to Revelations. The action is fast paced and it your just don't want to put it down. A great first book in a series.

Rating: Summary: POWERFUL! Constant page turner. Made me think! Review: The "Left Behind" series is not just another fictional series. It speaks the truth of what will happen in the end times. I simply couldn't put any of the "Left Behind" books I've read down. It showed me how powerful God really is. The books teach different things to different people. Some may like it, some may not. I just hope it makes everyone realize (in whatever way that may be) they need to 'get right with God' and be saved. I heavily recommend these books and can't wait for the next one to come out.
Rating: Summary: could not put it down Review: it's so close to the truth for a book that's classified as fiction. recommend everyone IN THE WORLD READ IT. I WILL BE READING THE WHOLE SERIES. AND IF YOU HAVE NOT READ THE THIRD MILLENIUM, LET ME SUGGEST THAT YOU DO SO ASAP!
Rating: Summary: could not put it down Review: it's so close to the truth for a book that's classified as fiction. recommend everyone read it.
Rating: Summary: definately made me concerned for the future of the un-saved Review: I could not get enough of this book. I stayed up all night to finish it! Left Behind really made me think about where I was spiritually, which was a very good thing. Since reading it I have redidicated my life the only Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. I recommned this book to everyone, it's extremely easy to read.
Rating: Summary: Very riveting and scary. Makes one think--HARD! Review: Never before have I read a fictional book based upon what most true Christians believe is propechy of things to come in the end times. As a Christian, who unfortunately forgets his role sometimes, I was very moved at times through the book. I caught myself crying at times, and spiritually affected on knowing what I truly believe what is coming. Am I worthy of God's plans? I pray that I am, because the all too real depictions of events to come is something I wouldn't wish on any human. This book only wants me to share Christ with others close to me and anyone who asks. This is not a book to put people down or to scare people into religion. I think the authors did a fine job of showing God's love and plan for us here on earth as shown by the main characters. These are conversations/questions that every person has at times through their life about spirtual matters. I eagerly await sitting down and reading the next ones. The only reason it did not earn 5 stars in my mind, is that after the Rapture, I can only imagine the earth's populace in much more despair and panic. Though the authors elude to tough times, its seems many people go about their day to day activities without really harboring on the fact that many of their loved ones and all the children of the world have dissapeared.
Rating: Summary: Life Changing Review: This book will challenge you to examine your own life
Rating: Summary: Why all the hype? Review: All these five-star reviews makes this out to be the best book since the Bible. And sure, it was mildly interesting, but it wasn't THAT good. The characters were fairly cardboard, the theology was questionable, and the dialogue rather stilted. I fear that the church is starving for decent literature and instead is wasting its time on the literary equivalent of Twinkies. Or maybe Ding Dongs.
