Rating: Summary: I was hooked! Review: I read Left Behind in 3 days-no small feat considering I barely even have enough time to do homework! I was hooked with the concept from the very beginning and am now in the second book.
Rating: Summary: Fantastic Review: I started this book on a Friday and finished it on the following Monday. I could not put it down. The characters were well developed, I felt Rays anguish as he came to realize that he would not be going home to his wife. I cant wait to read the rest of the series.
Rating: Summary: A good story, but. . . Review: I thought this was a pretty good read, but in all honesty, it doesn't have the ring of authenticity I'd like to have seen. If you want to read a far more credible and thrilling judgment day thriller, let me suggest the novel, THE LAST DAY, by Glenn Kleier. That book will put the fear of God in the staunchest atheist! It has a story to make the hairs stand up on the back of your head and a totally unexpected ending that is as uplifting as it is inspiring. A powerful message.
Rating: Summary: This series can change your life, and entertain you at once! Review: I stumbled upon this series and it is truly worth giving it a try. After a few awkward chapters in the beginning Lahaye and Jenkins begin to introduce concepts and characters in such a way that one finds it hard to put down. After buying the book I found myself addicted to the rest of the series. The book combines fast and powerful adventure with spiritual lessons. It will make you look really hard at who you are. If your wanting to find a book that will keep you waiting for more and help you learn about God's plan, this book is definitely for you!!
Rating: Summary: A well written page turner, but beware! Review: Left Behind is a well written piece of fiction. The authors leave you wanting more at the end of every chapter, and at the end of the whole novel. But, reader beware! This book clearly shows the authors' belief that Christianity is the ONLY religion, and makes no apologies for that belief. If you can read the book as a well written, suspenseful piece of fiction, then go ahead, you're sure to enjoy it. If not, you'll only be annoyed with the preachiness of the content, not to mention the complete lack of acknowledgement of other religions.
Rating: Summary: A full five alarm wake-up call......a great book. Review: Finally a novel where at the last page read one finds compelled to buy the sequel. I have just read a new novel, "Waking God's Prophet", what an awesome read that brings you in the story line before "Left Behind" series.......highy suggest that as a part of your collection also.
Rating: Summary: Naive treatment of an interesting plot Review: Interaction of the characters in these situations is completely unbelievable. Don't waste your time. One third into the book I got to wishing I hadn't started it.
Rating: Summary: Starts slow, but ends big Review: Putting the religious implications aside, the book starts with an eye-opener (the Rapture) but then slows down quite a bit until near the end, when it picks up in speed and action. All in all, I thought it was a pretty good work of fiction. After reading many of the other reviews, it seems many people have forgotten this is only a work of fiction, not a prophesy, or an addendum to the Bible. If you believe this book is THE TRUTH, you may as well believe the Aliens series, or the Star Trek series. They're fiction, too. I find it hard to believe the Lord would completely ignore the millions of people who don't believe in Christ as the savior. What happens to all the Chinese, Japanese, Jews, Africans, Hawaiians, etc? I guess they're all Left Behind. The authors obviously found their pot of gold and are milking it for all it's worth (12 books by 2002, and a guaranteed reader base=much money). It's fiction folks, calm down.
Rating: Summary: This book will make you think! Review: This book reads like a Tom Clancey thriller. I just happen to pick up a copy and couln't put it down. Read the book in two days and couldn't wait to have more. It doesn't matter if you're living in the Christian world or secular world, this book will cause you to stop and think. Brings to life the book of Revalation.
Rating: Summary: "Left Behind" is a real page turner. Review: "Left Behind","Tribulaton Force", "Nicolae", "Soul Harvest", and "Apollyon" the first five in this six book series make for excellent reading. My husband, who hates to read, has read all of these books and proclaims them wonderful. Many of my friends are also enthusiastic about the books. The adventures of Rayford, Buck, Chloe and the rest of the "crew" as they live out the last days will keep you reading into the night and eagerly looking for the next book.
