Rating: Summary: Can't say much for the theology... but I still read them all Review: I've read all the but most recent in the "Left Behind" series... and I'm living proof that one doesn't have to be a premillenialist to enjoy these kinds of books. In my opinion, although I'm probably not quite qualified to give it, the theology in this book is poor, but it sure helps one understand the premill/pretrib stance on eschatology. I could not put any one of these books down! The "theology" is a nice work of fiction and its called _Left Behind_ if that makes any sense at all. If you want a quick read, pick up these books- you can read them all in a week. They are full of excitement, action, and characters we genuinely care about. Even if you disagree with the theological position they take, you can still enjoy the books. Yep, that's what I spent so many words trying to say.
Rating: Summary: A book you won't want to put down. GREAT SERIES! Review: This book is very well written telling what could happen the last days, months, years before christ comes back to earth. Taken from the bible. The book makes it seem you are there and you become really close to the character. GREAT BOOK!
Rating: Summary: REMEMBER THIS BOOK!!! Review: When the rapture happens, remember this book!!Lahaye/Jenkins do an excellent job of following scriptue and giving insight to what the tribulaiton will be like!
Rating: Summary: Great concept, idiotic story telling. Review: First of all, I'm a Christian and thus am fascinated by the Revelation concept here, but other than biblical scholarship it seems that no research or homework went into this book. The characters are incredibly shallow and one dimensional,I couldn't care less about any of them, and the dialog seemed like it is written by a 12 year old. These stories do provide a very interesting backdrop for biblical prophesy and I have to admit that I will probably read the whole series, although I may need to plug my nose while doing it.It's really amusing how many reviews are five stars here. Let's face it folks, the emperor has no clothes, the writing stinks. It's the concept that interests us.
Rating: Summary: Changed the way I look at everything Review: I am not a big reader of religious fiction, I read action thrillers, Tom Clancy, John Grisham, etc. but a friend recommended Left Behind to me. I LOVED it - it doesn't read as a religious book at all, just a riviting, exciting, enjoyable story. Most highly recommended!
Rating: Summary: A Great Way to Find More Out About the Tribulation! Review: This book puts the tribulation in easy words that most anyone could understand. I am amazed at how the authors used both of their skills, and wrote such an amazing factual/fictional book. Left Behind is the perfect book for those who want to find out more about the Tribulation, but want to have some fun finding it out. This book will keep you on the edge of your seat the entire time. A must Read!
Rating: Summary: I don't want to be left behind! Review: I have read the whole series and it makes you realize that there will be unsaved people left here on earth. The book is easy to read and understand. Every Christian should read it!
Rating: Summary: Couldn't put it down Review: I've always been interested in Biblical prophecy, and so I was drawn to this series. I enjoyed the story and really couldn't put it down. I only wish the writing wasn't so simplistic and repetitive.
Rating: Summary: An Intriguing, Exciting Novel That Makes You Think. Review: Finally somebody writes a REAL novel about the Rapture. As a Baptist preacher's son, I have seen too many writers make some stupid books that assume to know the Bible but don't. Here we have a novel that's full of wonderful characters, powerful situations, and frightening predictions. All that's left is that they make the movie version! I'm tired of cheap Christian films that go nowhere, if they adapted this book, you wouldn't believe how many people would watch with interest! "Left Behind" even has a sweet touch of romance which I really loved. But what I loved the most was the dramatic qualities. Scenes here are full of wonderful intensity, like the one near the end when we realize the true nature of Nicolae Carpathia. This is a groundbreaking work that should inspire many other writers. Also, "Left Behind" may be the closest anyone has come to writing an accurate and plausible depiction of the Rapture and it's outcomes. This sure beats Joshua Harris's load of bull, "I Kissed Dating Goodbye."
Rating: Summary: Excellent makes you question your faith. Review: If your a christian and have read Revelation you will truly understand after reading Left Behind. If this were a true story a Christian would have seen the events depicted in the story as an obvious correlation to the events foretold in the Bible.
