Summary: What an anointed idea for fulfilling the Great Commission!
Review: Talk about Bible study aids, this series is a most unique tool. I was often inspired to go back and reread passages which I had previously just brushed by. "Therefore go and make disciples..." LaHaye and Jenkins have used the mechanism of a novel to deliver the greatest message ever told! Because the characters are modern-day, believable, and imperfect just as I am, I was immediately drawn to their struggles to rationalize why they were "left behind". I could, almost physically, suffer their confusion, their doubts, their anger, their loneliness, their stiffneck-ness. Equally could I rejoice with those who finally learned to "look to the hills" and who then shared their hope and assurance of another chance with passion and courage. I cheered as they "brought into the fold" first one, then another, then another. I have now finished all of the books. The way the authors have chosen to end each book is, I think, an another anointed idea. LEFT BEHIND has given me a mission! To date I have purchased this title 53 times I want E V E R Y O N E, especially my family and loved ones, to know that they need not be LEFT BEHIND! Tim and Jerry, you are a blessing! I anxiously await your the Spring, 2000 sequel!

Summary: Poorly written fiction based from fiction
Review: This book deals with the so-called "Second Coming of Christ", and what will happen. Well first off...I do not believe in God, Satan, heaven, hell, creationism, pre-destiny, or anything of the religious sort. You may call be biased based on my thoughts, but I believe that this is nothing more than an poorly written account based on a book (the bible), that is thousands of years old and that has been translated so many times, that people have refuse to fathom the thought of how many people have put their thoughts and influence into this work of early fiction. Now...I do not believe anything I read in this book, nor do I believe in the bible. I do have one piece of advice for everyone, and that is stop believing what society, your parents, your peers, or whoever you listen to tells you, and go out and seek new theories and become original. Remember that history is a lie agreed upon.

Summary: What an Impact
Review: I recommend that every christian that reads this book should share it with a lost person. This book opened my eyes to many things concerning the rapture of the christians and at the same time drew me much closer to God. I plan to get the Left Behind series for kids, for my son who was saved this summer in Bible School. This is the most wonderful and thrilling book I have read. At the end I wanted to join the Tribulation Force to fight the battle.

Summary: Don't Be Left Behind
Review: A thought provoking book that's a must for ALL Christians to read. The mention of scripture is meaningful and sent goosebumps down my spine. Don't plan on reading just this first one--you'll be hooked before the halfway point in this book.

Summary: Boldness
Review: Left Behind is pretty much run-of-the-mill for people who have studied the book of Revelation until you get to the last chapter. Then, it turned my life around. I realized there is absolutely no compromise between godliness and evil influences. This book will make you become bold in your walk with God and cause you to choose God's ways over evil every time particularly in situations you might have let slide by previously.

Summary: Great Book
Review: This is a Christian book, so, if you don't subsribe to the tenants of Christianity, don't complain. I firmly believe in my Savior Jesus Christ. Now, I must point out that this book series is not a prophesy. In the book of Revelations it says not to add anything to the book. So anyone who wants to read a real interpretation of Revelation, don't read this. For anyone who feels in need of a Spiritual awakening, buy this and accept Christ as your savior. One more thing, don't try to find out when the end will come, for Jesus said that man will not know whn the end will come, nor the Son, but only the Father.

Summary: For what it's worth..my two cents
Review: Like others who have posted here, this book was recommended to me with great fanfare. As someone who is a Christian, I looked forward to reading it with the hope that it presented a message which could be shared with my friends and family who are not Christian. Was I ever disappointed. And even more to the point, I was embarassed. This book is full of cliches, some of the most uninterestng characters I have ever experienced in litertature, and numerous (too many to name here)plot discrepencies. As a believer we are challenged to spread the gospel, this book does nothing to further the gospel in the eyes of the non-believer. My greatest concern is that any non-believer would foreever be flabbergasted at the simplistic writing style exhibited in this book.

My recommendation is to spend time reading the Bible and let God's grace speak to you. This did nothing of the sort to me.

Regards,

Summary: Shivers
Review: I read this book in two days after a doctor in the office that I work at loaned it to me. I started getting the chills at about the third page of this book and spent a sleepless night finishing it. Many of us in the office have read the books and all agree they are spectacular. It definitely made me think about my own mortality and gave me hope that there is more out there than just death as an end as long as you believe.

Summary: The best book I have ever read
Review: This book is great. I would read it again if I wanted to. It is stimulating, breathtaking, and enlighting. I can't wait for the movie to come out. I would give it better than 5 stars if possible.s

Summary: One of the Most Important works of fiction ever printed
Review: First of all, I would like to say that yes, this is a Christian book, and yes, we do believe that Christianity is the only way to view God.

This book is a very easy read. It is not on a childish level, but is simple and easy to follow. As for some setting information not being specific, your imagination can fill that in, making the book more relatable to everyone.

The content is uncompromising, clear, and uncomplicated. It provides a very real look at what is going to happen. You find yourself rooting for the characters to be saved instead of like in most fiction where there is a love story and you root for them to "get together".

As for the Y2K hype, the book was printed in 1996 and there was a movie in the 70's of a similar nature. This was not published to promote hysteria.

Those who don't like this book's content are those who don't like the exclusivity of Christianity. For those searching or for those who are already Christians, this book is a MUST READ AND PASS ALONG!
