Summary: A book about Alexander Calder and his work for children
Review: I purchased this delightful book for my budding young artist, Noah (age 6) after we watched a PBS special on Alexander Calder. We were not disappointed. Noah loved the charming cartoons depicting young Alexander's life and thoroughly enjoyed the photographs of the artist's mobiles and stabiles. The book provided an excellent basis for talking about Calder's work of course, but it also provided insights into how a young artist develops his or her talents through the years. The quality of both the pictures and text is extremely high. This book will not patronize your child in the least. I would recommend this to any family with young children, but it would also be a valuable addition to any school library.

Review: Very good information book for elementary children. Children in primary grades will need an adult to read parts aloud. Great information if you are doing projects with wire sculpture or mobiles.
