Rating: Summary: Kate's Life Change Review: How would you feel if your parents took you from the home you've always known to a brand new place where no body wants to get to know you. That's what Kate Summers has to deal with in this book. She is moved from warm and sunny California to cold and dreary Pennsylvania. She misses her friends and all she wants to do is go home. I have to say that I thought the book was okay. It is the perfect example of what a teenager's life is like...
Rating: Summary: My Special Review Review: I enjoyed this book. I know a lot of kids can relate to this book in real life experiences. The reason I gave it only four stars is because the events were not that exciting, when they happened. The only thing is that the ending is so predictable. It was almost a five star book. The book switched off from being a fantasy and then something you could actually relate to. Overall it was a very interesting book to read some of the time. It was almost like it dragged on and on. So this is why I gave this book four stars.
Rating: Summary: The Highway to coldness Review: The Year My Parents Ruined My Life is an awsome book. Kate's dad gets laid off so he finds a new job in Pennsylvania. His family lives in California. Kate does not want to move becuase she has her cool friends and surfer boyfriend. Kate thinks she has just about everything. When Kate moves to Pennsylvania she thinks it's horrid. As Kate starts school she gets stuck with a prissy, little girl that is supposed to show her around. Finally Kate had just about enough of Pennsylvania and everyone so she decides to leave. When Kate goes back to California everything had changed. Her friends and surfer boyfriend were acting all different. Finally Kate gets back to Pennsylvania and is glad to be back. She begins to fit in a lot better and is even starting to like school. I think this is a really good book. Everyone should read it, expecially for a good laugh. So go read it.
Rating: Summary: BRRRR it's cold!!!! Review: The year my parents ruined my life is an ok book. Poor kate is forced to move and trys to return home but finds out that things aren't hte way it used to be.
Rating: Summary: The Year My Parents Ruined My Life (The best book ever) Review: The Year My Parents ruined My Life is the best book ever. It is about a girl named Kate Summers who lives in sunny California. Her life is perfect with a boyfriend that cared about her and a best friend. Thenshe hears that she is going to move to Belletoona, Pennsylvania. When she moves her life is horrible! She finally had enough and escapes from Pennsylvania she finds out things has changed back in California, too. When she goes back to Belletoona she realizes it is not half bad. She evev finds out she has a secret I really liked this book because it is about a teenager's life and how you can make things that you think are terrible actually turn out pretty well! I think you should definitely buy this book if you like adventures and happy endings. I hope you read this book and see how good it really is!:)
Rating: Summary: Tierra's book review. Review: This book has many creative and detailed events in it. I fill that I could relate to Kate in her situation. Leaving your friends is a really hard thing to do, and it's no fun. Kate expressed her feelings of having to leave her friends, best friend and boyfriend. She explained the changes she had to ajust to and the new people. She expressed how her b/f betray her. She compared the to places together . The home she once had and the home she now has . I really enjoyed reading The Year My Parents Ruend My Life.
Rating: Summary: boring life Review: This book isn't my first choice of lititure. She moves to some boring place in Pennsilvania and all she talkes about is her man josh. the only thing to do in her town is go sleeding and get high in the bathroom. I don't know how something like that can be exciting. She sits in her room and cries that she had to leave Cali. Her best friend is cheating w/ her man. then they go to jerry springer and get in a fight.
Rating: Summary: The the best, but not the worst... Review: This book was rather dull. Kate Sommers moves from Cali to Pennsyvania where, for the most part, she is depressed. She goes back to Cali only to find her boyfriend cheating with her best friend. I thought this book was really predictable. The only reason I read this is because someone gave it to me and I had nothing else to read. It did not kill me and I did not stop reading but it was boring from the start. The climax is when she goes back to Cali, but that was not even exciting. This could happen, but that does not automatically make it good. I would only recomend this book to grades 1-5 if any at all. This book is one of my least favorites.
Rating: Summary: The Greatest Book Review: This book was very good. It told about what could've really happend in Kate Summers life. I'm sure that this is what it feels like to move from paradise to lonleyville. I mean her parents really did ruin her life. I think that Kate did exactly what I would've done.
