Summary: May and Ivy rule!
Review: I first read The Twins Strike Back when I was 8 years old, the age of the twins in the book. At that time it was my favorite book, but I didn't own it. I checked it out from the library constantly, but could never find a copy in any store, until now 21 years later, when I felt like rereading the book that influenced me so much as a kid, so I ordered it through Amazon.

Why did I like this book so much? All I can say is I loved the characters Ivy and May. I even made my family call me May after reading this book, in fact it is still my nickname today. Apparently in the newer edition, they are Natalie and Nicole. That's Ok, Nicole is my middle name!

May and Ivy taught me that you don't have to put up with teasing, but that to fight back with humor and intelligence is better than reacting in anger. And I'll tell you one thing, I never dared make fun of twins afterwards! Ha ha.

Well anyway, this book might seem overly simple to an adult's eyes, but I would recommend it for any kid from 6-10. It's a fun story, and it has some good lessons about treating others with respect and standing up for yourself. I think it would be a great gift for a girl on her 8th birthday, whether she's a twin or not. I'm not a twin, but May and Ivy were my role models.
