Rating: Summary: One of an Outstanding Series Review: I used this book, as well as "What Do We Know About Judaism" and "What Do We Know About Christianity", as part of an introductory elementary homeschool course in world religion and culture. All three were excellent, covering a lot of ground with clear text and interesting photographs and line drawing illustrations. Today I ordered the ones on Hinduism and Buddhism for next year -- despite the hardback/library binding cost. Both my student and I learned a lot, enjoyably!
Rating: Summary: Interesting Series to understand and learn tolerance Review: The book is all about Islam, with pertinent issues analyzed, in the words of the publihser:
"This book takes an exciting look at the religion of Islam and answers the above questions through thoroughly researched information, beautiful color photographs, and wonderfully detailed illustrations. It helps young people ask questions and leads them to a better understanding of the people and beliefs of Islam."
Rating: Summary: Thorough and interesting Review: This book is great! It helped me understand the basic tenets and practices and customs of Islam. It's simple for kids to understand, but it covers a lot of material. It's clear and -- like the other books in the series -- doesn't proselytize, it just informs. But the pictures are interesting and my kids love it. It helps them understand what the 1.3 billion Muslims in the world believe.
