Summary: No matter what ANYONE says, this is the BEST BOOK!
Review: I have read some of the reviews on this website that really downgrade this book, but I don't understand how anyone could have given this book less than a 4 or 5. This book helped me out soooooo much during my elections, and I won both times. It's not about copying the ideas in the book and trying to make them work at your school, it's about taking that advice and molding it into your own ideas and thoughts on posters, speeches, and campaign trends. Believe me, this book is not like one of those "Learn Egyptian in 5 Days!" kind of books, it REALLY helps you out if you are even having the slightest notion of wanting to become an officer at your school. So, I DEFINITELY think that this book is a MUST for ANYONE thinking about running for office.

Summary: This book is great! :)
Review: I just won my election for Senior Class President. I credit this book for helping me achieve this position. If it doesn't give you an idea you can use, it at least convices you to do something different. The girl I was running against had won the previous three years, and she was convinced that she'd win. My idea (have different useless facts and passing different ones out each day) dominated her. Another idea I used was to put facts on the bathroom inside the stalls and on the bathroom walls. It worked.

Summary: I WON BY A LANDSLIDE
Review: I'm not a jock, cheerleader, or very popular for that matter of fact, but with this book I went on to win the position of vice-president in my Junior class. I was stumped at first. I had no clue what i was going to do for a speech nevermind campaigning. When i read this book, the ideas in the book were great. Not only that, but they gave me even more ideas. I won the election by a landslide and i recommend it to anyone who feels stumped or that they do not stand a chance.

Summary: If you are a kid, have a kid, or know a kid -- buy this book
Review: In high school, my feeling was always that elections were popularity contests and that I wouldn't stand a chance, even though I was a lot more qualified than the people who did win. As we find out from Jeff Marx's HOW TO WIN A HIGH SCHOOL ELECTION, victory is within reach for anyone with the courage and the dedication to try.

With common sense tips and loads of great anecdotes supplied by (who else?) thousands of teenagers across America, Marx takes the reader, step by step, through the process of running and winning a great campaign. He reveals winning strategies for how to deal with the competition, with the voters, and with the faculty of the school.

I won't give any of his advice away. Read the book for yourself, or give it to your favorite teenager -- it's a must.

Summary: Helped a loser become a winner
Review: This book is awesome! I had lost four elections for class president (5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th) so during my Freshman year I was reluctant. This book gave me the confidence and knowledge I needed to win, and win BIG! I have been elected two years in a row since reading this book and am expected to win the election for Junior Class President....

Summary: Win Elections or Just More Friends
Review: This book tells you what has worked and what has not. Jeff Marx polled student body officers to find how they won their positions. Then he categorized the stories into this helpful guide. This book will not just help you win the election; it will help you win friends. Elections are popularity contests.

As the author of 113 books (including revisions and foreign-language editions) and over 500 magazine articles, I am very impressed with the way Jeff wrote and published this valuable book. END

Summary: Very useful indeed
Review: This book, while seemingly inappropriate for someone in my position (I'm running as an MP in the UK election) has many, many parallels. Making friends, pressing the flesh, wearing sexy cheerleader outfits. These will be factors, I hope, that my rivals will overlook. Victory is assured.

Summary: no book will win you an election
Review: This is a good book, it gives you a lot of ideas, and ways to make a great campaign. but don't get suckered, this book, and no book will win a election for you! I am the Student Council President, but i didn't win the election because of this book, although it helped. Consider this book as a friend, and not as a GUIDE.
The good thing about this book, is that it has many suggestions, but the bad thing is that if you think about it, there are just 100 suggestions, because each suggestion is written over, and over again, but with different words. But 100 ideas can be really helpful if you have no idea on how to start a high school campaign.
