Services ranging from the police to the fire department to ambulance services to the Coast Guard are discussed. The book illustrates in action the various vehicles these emergency services use: everything from cars, trucks, boats, helicopters, and even planes. The book is written in a simple manner, yet in such a way that young children become more informed and better understand the jobs of those who serve and protect. The last few pages of the book contains a short history of fire, police, and ambulance vehicles of the past.
