Summary: Count the ways little brown bear
Review: I gave Count the ways little brown bear 4 stars only because it is just a counting book for kids, but it is a very good counting book. My kids love it and they can't even read yet.
When reading time comes lately this book has been the their choice. I suspect it has something to do with the vivid illustrations, but they do hang on every word and it is definately making an impression and it won't be long before they have it memorized. This book would make a great addition to any youngsters library. Educational but still fun. I also think it would be a good idea to consider a Spanish translation version.

Summary: Bedtime Counting book
Review: In this lovely bedtime counting book Mama Brown Bear tells Little Brown Bear all the ways she loves him. She loves him more than he loves two green apples and two red apples, and more than he loves three counting books and three bedtime books. Moore's watercolor illustrations are beautiful and capture the spirit of the story. Young children will learn from and enjoy this book.

Summary: A Mother's Review
Review: Speaking not as a professional book critic but as a mother of a pre-schooler, "Count the Ways - Little Brown Bear" is surely one of the sweetest books we've found. We have a small library of children's books in our house, yet this is the one my daughter chooses to 'read' before going to bed each night. "Count the Ways" is a counting book that is not just filled with numbers written in numerical form, but are suggested in a verbal form as well. This sort of stimulation makes learning especially fun and interesting for children of this age group. The beautiful illustrations by Margie Moore are what make this book come to life. The scenery is filled with color and so much detail to look at while counting and reading each page. I recommend this book to anyone who has a little one to cuddle and read with.

Summary: Lovely illustrations, good concept
Review: We received this book recently and my son (3 years old) requests that I read it. The book attempts to mesh a traditional counting book with a bedtime story and it succeeds reasonably well. Still, I feel after repeated readings that the story is worded in such a way that some of the natural inflection inherent in regular spoken language is missing, and parts of the story come across sounding awkward.
