Summary: Great for Beginning Readers
Review: This title by Mercer Mayer is one of my favorite for early readers. As a teacher, I'm always on the lookout for books that will "hook" young readers and give them the confidence they need to read independently. This book is a perfect mixture of familiar pattern and new storyline. The topic is animals, so most kids are interested from the start. The text is nicely spaced on the page. All of these factors contribute to the title's success with young readers.
