Rating: Summary: whats rong with me! Review: at the end of this book i found that i was disaponted that Image came in 2 place in the Florida Derby.(it must be the books with cristina and cindy, they always win).but its not so bad.Any way it was a good book and i reccomend it to all horse lovers and racing fans.
Rating: Summary: Parents: Review: Im always surprised when readers get so huffy about these books. I mean, come on. Theyre stories, not true life. In real life neither Chris or Mel would be tough enough or experienced enough to be jockeys on their ways to the Derby, but let's face it--these books are for readers who love horses, and the real truth about racing is not pretty--it's very gritty. So if you want perfect race times etc-- read the newspapers!
Rating: Summary: Can Alexis smash Melanie's dreams of the winner's circle? Review: Perfect Challene is such a cool book! Melanie, her dad, and Jazz are taking Image down to Gulfstream Park in Florida to race her in the Bonnie Miss stakes. but melanie's dad has entered Image in the prestegious Florida Derby where the country's best colts will be running in instead.he didnt even tell Melanie until they got 2 Florida! but Melanie cant be mad at her dad because his business is in trouble and he needs the money from the Florida Derby's purse. that is, if Image can win............ Everything seems 2 be going perfect fot Melanie. she has a budding relationship with Jazz, a famous rock star. Image is being kept at Pine Haven, the house and paddocks Jazz rents for him and his band when he is in Florida, and she has her own field. (image hates being kept in a stall at the track all day.) But Melanie is worried. Alexis, who put Image's previous owner in serious debt with the bank, will do anything to keep Image from beating the colt she is training, Speed.com , in the Florida Derby. How far will Alexis go to stop Image from winning? Can Image and Melanie still rise to the challenge of beating some of the best colts in America? can they win it for Melanie's dad? Or will the evil, plotting Alexis smash their dreams of victory to the ground? To find out, read this book!
Rating: Summary: Outcome not what you expect! Review: Perfect Challenge was a really good book. Not as good as some of the other ones but it was good. I kept reading it until I was done! It totally shocked me that Melanie's dad was in danger of losing his business. I don't blame him for entering Image in a different race but I would've asked Melanie first. I liked the way that they fit Alexis (the manager from Tall Oaks farm) into the book again. She trys to make trouble but Melanie always came out on top. I also thought it was cool that Melanie and Jazz are starting to have something between them. It is about time! The end of the book was totally not what I thought but I was glad it ended the way it did. I won't give it away like some people do though! You have to read it for yourself. Definitley a good book. I recommend it to any Thoroughbred fan.
Rating: Summary: interesting... Review: This, with its hideous cover and all, is probably my favorite "new generation" book of the Thoroughbred Series. I was genuinely entertained for most of it, and found myself not skimming through giant sections of text like I usually do with these books. However, I must address a view disappointing aspects. Firstly, you don't van a race horse for fifteen hours. You just don't do it. In horse racing, people have the money to ship horses on planes, and with a horse like Image it would much more safe than sticking her in a metal box and driving with her for the better part of a day. Secondly, Melanie's father never would have gotten the chance to enter Image in the Florida Derby because owners generally don't enter horses in anything. Plus, as the book even tells us, it's unrealistic to expect Image to do better than last. Thirdly, I don't understand the big deal over Image in the Florida Derby. She's only a filly, and she's only a filly who's raced in two races. There's not that much interest when fillies run in the Kentucky Derby, so the interest in Image is hard to believe. On top of that, the general "you don't belong here" attitude from most people in Florida toward Mel was a little odd. It's only Florida, and plenty of Kentucky based horses race there. It's not a secluded, backward place. And then the race. I wonder how the time for the Kentucky Derby can be broken when the Florida Derby is shorter than the Kentucky Derby. You don't justify a horse going to the Kentucky Derby based on time. You base it on earnings. The time in the Florida Derby would have meant nothing. Over all, there's still a serious lacking in the actual subject that makes up a good portion of the book. Once the authors get that under control this series may be worth the money they're asking for it these days.

Rating: Summary: Great book. Review: Well, this wasn't the best Thoroughbred book ever written, but it wasn't the worst either. I didn't read this book the whole way through right away, because it wasn't exciting. The first like two chapters were about how much noise Image was making in the trailer. Boring! And second Chris and Parker broke up in the last book, so uh, what is it with Chris and her BOYFRIEND Parker having problems, when they clearly broke up in the last book. So, why did they say they were still going out, but having problems. I liked the fact that Mel and Jazz finally kissed and are starting to "go out". What was with Whitebrook being mentioned once, in one single tow page PHONE CALL! And they didn't say anything about Star, but in the Star books they always talk about Image. So, this was an OKAY book, but it could have been TONS better and I am hoping that the next one is better and that I will read it in one day like I usually do!
