Summary: Tough, movable parts that little ones can really manipulate!
Review: Our two year-old truck-lover received this book as a gift and it has become a favorite! Unlike other frail books with "movable parts" (pop-ups, pull-tabs, etc.) that tear, this book is tough and can withstand hard play. Each board book page features a construction vehicle made of a raised, heavy board at a worksite with a hinged, moving part (so it's two-dimensional). There is a small finger hole that allows our little guy to "lift" the scoop or "dump" the truck of sand into the playground. Too bad Amazon does not currently show a photo, because you have to really see this book to love it. The text describes what the construction vehicle is doing at each worksite, and is a bit more advanced than most of our books. So, I'd bet he will enjoy this for a long time not only for the fun play, but eventually for the descriptions of the vehicles he loves. Received this book as a gift and am now sending it as a gift to two other 2 year-olds.
