Rating: 3 stars
Summary: Disappointing
Review: I choose "Everybody Else's Parents Said Yes" to be the first book of a new, middle school Mother-Daughter Book Club I was starting at my daughter's school. I choose it primarially based on Paula Danzinger's other works I had heard of, & because my daughter thought it looked good. Overall, I thought it was disappointing & not up to Paula's usual standard, but it did have flashes of strength, & got better as the story progressed. Parts of it seemed dated as well. The girls enjoyed the sibling interactions, & said that parents often did seem that way to them! As a group, we gave it a fairly low rating, because no girl wanted to spend her own money on it.

Summary: A Brief Review
Review: I thought this book was very comical and realistic because you can tell by the author's writing that she must have had siblings. The way the brother and sister argue is amazing because it shows you how brothers and sisters really act together. The story had its ups and downs, but from my point of view I thought the book was cute and funny. I enjoyed the way Matthew Martin had problems with being rude and obnoxious to the sixth grade girls. I think that the author must have reread this book over and over a million times because she liked it so much. I know I would. This book is mostly about a boy who thinks that his parents have to be like everyone else's parents, but soon Matthew Martin learns that it is great to have parents different from everyone else's.

Summary: Every Else's Parents Said Yes
Review: The book that I am reading is Everyone Else's Parents Said Yes by Paula Danziger. This story was very humorous The part I liked best was when Matthew sister was asking her parents if she could get plastic surgery, because her ears were lopsided. She also asked her parents if she was allowed to get contacts, because her face looked weird with glasses. Anyone who would like to read a humorous book should try this one and see if you agree with me that it's a great story.
