Summary: One of McDaniel's best
Review: ANGEL OF MERCY is yet another heartwarming book for teens by Lurlene McDaniel, and even though you can probably read this book in less than three hours, its still amazing.
ANGEL OF MERCY is about eighteen-year-old Heather Barlow - she's the daughter of two rich Miami plastic surgeons, and she feels that her lifestyle is too luxurious. To "make up" for her lifestyle, she decides to go to Africa with a mission group where she can make a real difference in someone else's life. On the trip, she makes tons of new friends - Ian, Ingrid, Boyce, and so many others - that feel the same way that she does. Heather isn't prepared for everything she faces, though, and when tragedy strikes, she has to rely on her new friends and her faith to guide her through it.
McDaniel has created (yet another) winning book with ANGEL OF MERCY. It's nice to see that she strayed from her usual topics of kids with lukemia, diabetes, and other various diseases. This book also has a more religious plot outline, which is different from most of her books. As I said, ANGEL OF MERCY is a heartwarming story that teens will enjoy.

Summary: The Angel of Mercy is the best book of all times!
Review: Heather Barlow, 18 years old, just finished her senior year at high school. All her life, she wished she could go to a trip to Africa to help the needy. So, her time has come and she is off to Africa and meeting many new people. However, when Heather meets Ian, she falls in love (and Ian does too!) She also meets a very speical girl who has lost her sister. Ian takes a chance to save her missing sister. But, before Ian leaves Heather never got a chance to really express her love to him. Will she ever regret it? Will Ian return with the missing sister? What will happen? Read the book and you will find out! This was a fantastic book. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

Review: Heesun L. C/D Book Report on Angel of Mercy I think that Angel of Mercy, is one if the best books Lurlene McDaniel has written. I have read many of her works and I loved most of them. This is a fiction book about a girl named Heather Barlow and how she goes to Africa to help the people there who are not as fortunate as she is. She just finished high school and now she wants to make herself useful and wants to make a difference in the world. While she is on her trip to Africa, she meets a guy named Ian McCollum who has already been on these types of trips. All her group members who are going to Africa with her have a different reason for going to aid those is need than she does. Heather is exposed to all the horrible things about sickness and poverty and she can¡¯t believe that while other lucky people live in happiness and in good health, others are dying and starving. During Heather¡¯s stay in Africa, Ian and Heather fall in love and plan to keep in touch when they have to part. Then, a terrible tragedy occurs and Heather finally realizes her purpose. She takes on a dangerous mission to go and save a young baby who is dying in Sudan. This book was written in 3rd person, which I think was a good idea so that the author could show the minds of more characters. There were two main conflicts in this book, which were person vs. herself and person vs. Fate (God). Heather struggles throughout the book about her reason for helping people and tries to relate to the others and why they came. Later on in the book, Heather is battling with an uncontrollable problem that concerns Ian. If I could rate this book from 1-10, 10 being the best, I would give this book a 9.5 because although I liked the topic and the story, I think that the author could¡¯ve written at a higher level and more descriptively. I thought that this was a very moving and touching book. It showed me how unfortunate some people are and how we take advantage of things that may seem to be nothing to us but to others can be called luxury. I now realize more how I am so fortunate not to be a person with no home or very little belongings. After reading this book, I want to help more and give when I get the chance to. I think that I could relate with the main character, Heather Barlow. When I was reading the book, there were many times where I thought in my own head, ¡°Oh, I think the same too.¡± I also thought that it was very sorrowful when Ian passed away trying to save another person. I never expected Ian to die either because there was not mention of a tragedy in the summary.

Summary: Absolutely Wonderful!
Review: I have been reading Lurlene McDaniel's books for years, and this one is definately my favorite. It is a story about Heather Barlow, an 18 year old idealist who has always wanted to make a difference in the world. So when she graduates from high school, she sets out on a missions trip to Africa instead of going to college. On the way there she meets Ian McCollum, and they quickly fall in love. Once in Africa, Heather is stunned by the pain and horror that surrounds her. Ian is her rock during this time. When tragedy strikes, Heather's idealsim is crushed, and while she realizes that she can't save the world, she does find a way to save one person's world....
I highly recommend this book to anyone, any age, whether you are a Lurlene McDaniel fan or not.

Review: I have mixed emotions about this book becasue part of me liked it and part of me didn't like it. Part of me liked it becuase the author made Ian and Heather seem like real people. The author made them seem real because she made real things happen like in real life. For an example the way they hid their feelings about their love for each other.Another way they seemed like real people was becuase they went to Africa to heel the sick and this is a major problem around the world today that we need to fix. Although I thought it was a good book, but part of me didn't like it becasue it needed more suspense. If the book would have had more thrill to it I think I would have gotten more into the book and enjoyed reading it. Even thought it was not the best book I have ever read I still would recommened it to others to read. The reason I would recommened this to others is because it is a persons opion on the kind of books they like to read. People who like sad books this is the book to read !!

Summary: This Just Isn't Believable Anymore
Review: I think that this book was one of McDaniel's best. It touch me greatly. All my life I have always wanted to put a big Band-Aid, one of those Advanced ones, on the whole world. It has really inspired me to work harder. Maybe one day I could take a trip on the Mercy Ship....

Review: This is the best book I have read in a while. I Love Lurlene McDaniel books. However, Don't Die My Love, is by far my favorite. This is as good as Don't Die My Love. Anyone who has not read either book should really consider reading both of these books, as well as the Sequal to Angel of Mercy (Angel of Hope).

Summary: Woah
Review: Woah is a very good word to discribe this book. I could hardly find myself able to put it down. This book touched me deeply. Most of Lurlene's books touch me, but none more then this one. The reality in this book is so awakening. This book has motivated me to try my best to help the world in some way, in anyway. It made me understand how fortunate I am to be born in a weathy country and made me grateful for what I have, and not worry about what I want. This book made me cry and left me wanting more. I love how much these people trust in the Lord and how they trust if they put their problems with him that they will be solved, therefore it also gave me more religious hope. I love this book and implore you to read it. I'm sure you will love it also.
