Rating: Summary: Tears Stream Down My Face Review: I am a voracious reader. Although I enjoy many books, I can honestly say that there are precious few books that make me laugh uproariously.Gordon Korman is a brilliant author. My first exposure to his writing was in purchasing THE WAR WITH MR. WIZZLE from a book club just to help a class earn some credit. Never heard of it and thought I would read it if very bored. Well, the day I read that book changed my life. I have since become a collector of Gordon Korman books. His Bruno and Boots series are brilliant and never fail to make me laugh until tears stream down my face. The vivid visual gags in these books make me laugh without fail. When I saw this book- the TWINKIE SQUAD, I did not think that it would compare with the BRUNO and BOOTS series. Well, I was wrong. Doug Fairchild is a crazy diplomat's kid that just does not fit. He causes chaos wherever he goes and when he drops into the life of a struggling city kid, well, the roller coaster begins. I have read this book 5 times now. Every time I get started with it, I think I will be bored. Surely I will not laugh THIS time. And when Douglas gets into the basement scene where he is giving a tour, I undoubtedly end up doubled up in laughter unable to stop. My stomach will often hurt I laugh so hard. This book is a treasure. If you like it, get every book in the Bruno and Boots series too. They are too valuable to pass up- before they totally disappear.

Rating: Summary: The Twinkie Squad rocks the HOUSE! Review: I thought this book was rockin'. It is my favorite book of all time. I love everyone of the characters in this novel, and I think Gordon Korman is a genius. This book is so funny, I needed to make several hospital trips for some good ol' fashion respirator treatment. It was worth it!
Rating: Summary: Frollicking Amongst The Bullrushes Review: Only a few books can keep me laughing each time I read them. The Fudge books; Who Invited The Undertaker?; Maxie, Rosie, and Earl: Partners In Grime; Marshmallow Muscles, Bannana Brainstorms; and The Twinkie Squad. All the characters are realistic and based in reality. All the situations are realistic and based in reality. That's what makes it so funny. Better than many of the kid movies or comics, this is funnier than reading seventy Archie comics. There're at least two laugh-out-loud jokes per page. It's like watching The Nanny, I Love Lucy, Good News, or the first season of the Parkers and Moesha. Excellence in its purest form.

Rating: Summary: Still Vivid After All This Time Review: Read it years and years ago in middle school. Loved every letter of it, reread it over and over... no wonder I aced every quiz on it. It's funny in a clean, good, not-slapstick or stupid but a humorous way. Very good description, well-developed characters, G-R-R-R-R-R-E-A-T plot... and my favorite lesson, contrary to the one preached on t.v. shows for tweens that everyone has what it takes to be popular but it's not worth it, but that there are some cool and some "geeks", and it's always okay to be the latter: We had more fun!
