Rating: Summary: The first story your child will be able to understand Review: I have a real fondness for this book, because it's the first story my son was able to understand. It's about two dogs, Big Dog and Little Dog. They become hungry, eat, and then curl up together to go to sleep. It's a very simple story, with very simple pictures, told in very simple language: "Big Dog is hungry...Little Dog is hungry, too...Big Dog is sleepy...." And therein lies its magic. It's so darn simple that a baby can understand it. My son was not quite one when I started reading it to him. I remember being so excited at the prospect of a real story after all those months of "naming" books. And when I realized he understood what was going on, it was heaven. Now my son is two and a half and has moved on, so to speak. (The book is probably best enjoyed by the under-two crowd.) But this book has become one of my standard baby gifts.

Rating: Summary: My son loved all the big dog little dog books! Review: I ordered all the big dog little dog books for my son and he loves them. Almost as much as my wife and I do... This one is good, but I would recommed the others more. They are all great for kids...
Rating: Summary: Best Baby Book Ever Review: This is a sweet, simple book with little details babies love. We look at Little Dog's sweater, Big Dog's collar and tongue, the owner's boots and coffee. It has a slightly unexpected ending that makes my 18 month old laugh every time we read the book, which is about 18 times a day. I just mention the title and my little one giggles. I've bought the whole series now, and we're not disappointed.
Rating: Summary: A great, quick read! Review: This is a very amusing short story with adorable illustrations. My son is one and he cannot sit still for a long story, at any time. He loves the pictures of the 'doggies' and the funny things that they do. We have a big dog and a little dog in our home so it is especially fitting. (Big dog goes to sleep on little dog's bed, and little dog sleeps on big dog's bed) This is one of a series of stories about the adventures of Big Dog and Little Dog, and they're all great. I suggest buying the entire series.
