Review: This book provides a thorough and well-written introduction to the land of Israel. The book covers everything from geography, history, government, economy, environment, Lifestyle, Religion, Language, Arts, Leisure, Festivals to Food. The book is particularly outstanding because of its ability to capture the character of the country and its people. The prose are beautifully written bringing the country and its people to life. It is a must have for libraries that want complete and timely material for projects, individuals preparing for a trip to Israel and/or anyone looking for complete yet concise information concerning this country. One of the very best introductory books on Israel. Highly recommended.

Review: This is a beautifully photographed and contemporary book that is a wonderful overview of Israel for readers 9-12. Provides a responsible and authentic coverage of the countries history and government, environment and economy and lifestyle. Particularly helpful are the appendices provided at the end of the book including: a Time Line, Further Information (providing websites, videos and books for further reading), economy and culture facts, a glossary, and maps that situate the cultural and economic aspects of Israel. Three authentic Israeli recipes are included that can easily be made by readers 9-12.

Summary: Excellent Book
Review: This is a perfect book to help you understand and appreciate Israel's rich heritage. It is an extremely well-written and highly grounded country guide, that provides the reader the opportunity to become immediately versed in the country's diverse past history, present situation and culture. I found it to be a thorough and up-to-date guide which is both educational and entertaining. A very useful timeline is included. The book is illustrated, throughout, with excellent color photographs and maps. The material is presented without bias, which makes for a wonderful read.
