Rating: Summary: This book is a handy resource for Sunday School. Review: Though primarily intended for use in family situations, our church used "Let's Explore Inside the Bible" for a summer Sunday school program. Kindergarten through fifth-grade children were pulled out of worship after the children's sermon for a 30-45 minute lesson, and we had a different teacher each week. The book presents 13 key Bible stories in chronological order, which fit well with our 13-week summer. Each lesson is self-contained, so teachers do not need to go over all the previous material, while the children benefit from the overall plan. Each story is accompanied by explantory material, Bible references, and a variety of activities and crafts which allow a teacher to choose those that best fit the ages and number of children. Most require a minimum of preparation and supplies that are usually available in the Sunday school supply cupboard or at home. I recommend this book for any of those "down" times (such as summer or midweek programs) when the curriculum runs thin or is not used. I hope to see "Let's Explore Inside the Bible" Vol. 2 (and 3, 4, etc.) soon, for use during summers to come!
