Summary: A little-known Sendak gem
Review: This book happens to be my favorite Sendak. Taking two rather obscure Mother Goose rhymes, Sendak creates compelling stories purely through his illustrations. One could read the book entirely through his drawings, without making any reference to the texts. A very imaginative book, particularly as the child who is reading it has to make an effort to look at the pictures to follow the narrative.
