Review: Great book! My daughter loved this book and can't wait for more in the series. She was blown away by the divas' accomplishments off the stage/screen. She is inspired and has a new appreciation for being a (soon to be) young woman. The prose is direct, colorful, and appropriate for a wide ranging audience age. I personally liked the voice of the writer, and my daughter won't stop talking about her new hero, Josephine Baker!

Summary: A Great Look into the Original Women of Stage and Screen!
Review: I never realized that Mae West was the original Madonna! This book gives great insight into glamorous women like Josephine Baker and Carmen Miranda, but it also gives excellent historial and cultural insight as well. The section on Mae ended a little too quickly, but the rest of the book gives great understanding into what makes a star a star. Anyone who thinks they're going to be the next Jennifer Lopez should read this book to see what the women before her went through to make it possible for women today to be successful. This is a fun, quick read not to be missed.
