Rating: Summary: one of the best of the New Generation Review: definitely my favorite of the eventing books. in this book, we are introduced to Parker Townsend, the son of none other than Brad and Lavinia who has been away at school overseas.
i think the addition of Parker to the character roster gives a much needed boost to the series. he is funny and charming and charismatic and i thoroughly enjoyed the mini-rivalry between him and Dylan. as sweet as it was to see Ashleigh and Samantha marry their high school sweethearts, it was incredibly refreshing to see Christina torn between two boys she likes a lot. not everyone settles down with the first guy they kiss and it was nice to see Chris' inner turmoil.
this book also was much more interesting due to the fact that things happened in it. it was not just Christina and her friends schooling over and over for an event in the very last chapter. there were plenty of things going on: the horse auction, the point to point, the hunt ball and the event at the end. all in all, it was one of my favorite New Generation books and definitely my favorite eventing book.
sadly though, Harper Collins has decided to end this great series at book #72. go to www.whitebrookfarm.com to find out how you can help keep that from happening!
Rating: Summary: This book SUCKS!!! Review: I thought this book was great! Im glad the townsends are back in the book. it was very exciting. My favorite part was when Christina and Parker were at the event.i will definatly keep reading this series. I think it was sad when Parker fell and Foxy got hurt.
Rating: Summary: Racing Parker: Another book going for one of my favorites! Review: Racing Parker is now in my book shelf for the favorites(i don't have many)and in the Thoroughbred Collection, I'm saying that it is a super favorite! I would give it more than ten stars if i could! Herm....(i'm a little over excited here).Okay. Here's what I think: I think it's too bad that Smantha couldn't buy Foxglove but that was okay. She at least got her other chosen one. I think that Christina was being a little unfair to Daylan in this book(spending time with Parker and moving up to Training Level with him and stuff) I know that Parker was a little crazy by riding bike through his school and jumping Foxy over one of the "not assined jumps" but now I know that he was doing that to get attention. In the end, it ended up to a "worried situation" and I think Parker learned his lesson, BUT NO! In #37 he starts juping Foxy over the rails with the saddle bags on her and doing dangerous things when Foxy starts bucking around like some maniac! All in all, Parker isn't a bad guy. This book is great and i recomend it!
Rating: Summary: Yay! Review: This book is a really great book! I loved it! I agree with the reader from Maryland about Parker, though I miss racing--but it's back! And even though this boo kwa about eventing, it was really good and much better than the past books about Christina(except ASHLEIGH'S CHRISTMAS MIRACLE). Read this book--it's really good and exciting and interesting! And finally, Clay Townsend actually confronts his son instead of making up a lame excuse for his stupid behavior. And I'm raelly glad Samantha and Tor are back!
Rating: Summary: Thank you! Review: This book is alot better. Parker seems nice enough and I'm glad Sammy and Tor are back. I'm also glad the Christina won't be taking lessons at Mona's anymore because I didn't really like her. I'm glad the next two TB books, On the Track and Dead Heat, are about racing even though jumping's not that bad. But I still think that just about everyone agrees that they love the excitement of racing. I like this author Dale Gasque better than Alison Estes. She also wrote Dylan's Choice too, I think, and I liked that one alot. Thank you for making this book better!
Rating: Summary: This book SUCKS!!! Review: This book is so stupid! The only reason it got one star insteadf zero is because the only intense part is when Parker crashes on Foxy. THAT'S IT!!!! Christina acts so naive in this story!! IT'S NOT EVEN NORMAL!!! This book sucks, and everybody gets a little stupider just by reading it!!
