Rating: Summary: My thought's. Review: During our time we tend to read many book that honestly don't interest many people. I myself have read many books and "Leaving Home" a book with many short stories sure will be one of my favorites for now on. It is a book with many incredible stories about the authors personal experiences. After reading many of the short stories if Leaving Home I can honestly say their lives seem very familiar when I talk to friends about this book, In retrospect I myself found a story that sounded very familiar to my childhood. I truly recommend this book to anyone who loves to read as much I do.
Rating: Summary: leaving home: just a state of mind Review: how many times have we gone through an overboring period in our teenage years when we felt that we couldn't expand our horizons? how many times were we either excited, concerned, or upset about something that happened during our chilhood? this is what leaving home is about, states of mind. it's easy to read a story, but it may not be that easy to live it. however, it's easy to picture it in your head, and that happens whenever a story is well-related. In Leaving Home you don't get anything besides plenty of well-related personal passages that changed somebody's life, and they can make you realize how or when did your life changed.
Rating: Summary: its nice Review: i like it and the discussion of our class never stop talking about this book. also the short story is well written because of the author's life. they find new beginning like the book called the circuit. it is about a young boy who changes to another place. also a lot of different stories that tell about life struggling. some will show happiness and some will be sad. but anyways i like it and hopefully someone who will read my review will know why i like the book.
Rating: Summary: Been There done That Review: Its interesting, a book about what it feels like to dream of leaving home and the and alll the posibilties that could follow., I was real impressed with their desire to go out and explore the world. The problem is that most of the situations in the book has happened to me.
Rating: Summary: Leaving Home a Fabulas Book Review: Leaving home is a fabulas book. I had to read it for my english class, and I am very glad we did. It has alot of great writers in it. The writers are very good and they get their point across very well. In some of the stories I related to some of the characters.I sugest this book to one and all and i hope you all have a great time reading it if you choose.
Rating: Summary: It's a wonderful book Review: Leaving Home is a wonderful anthology of stories by d different authors who make you feel if your really in the story in the story.Ireally like reading Allan Sherman A Gift Of Laughter because the father and the son had similar characteristic. They both reacted in the same way same same way when they were talk to in a manner that they didn't didn't like.In Leaving Home some their decision was either based on a choice that they had to make or their parents sendin them away on vacation.
Rating: Summary: The Book to Pay Attention to Review: Leaving home was a good book with alot of different stories. To me I think that this book was interesting to read and it makes me want to read more books similar to it. The stories that are in the book all are about leaving home and going on trips and just not being at home. The story that I like the best was Bad Influence because i had to do a presentation on that story. Most of the stories in the book were pretty good. I would reccomened this book to some of my classmates and friends that are in school as well. According to the stories in the book I think that it would be good to leave home and go on a vacation like in the stories.
Rating: Summary: A good pick as a reading book for a freshman Review: This book consists of 15 carefully chosen short stories about people who had to (for some reason) leave home and how they deal with it. Hazel Rochman and Darlene Z.McCampbell have done a nice job to gather this stories form 15 famous authors including Amy Tan, Tim O'Brien and Toni Morrison( a nobel prise winner and a Princeton University professor). It's an easy read and you won't be sorry of reading it.
Rating: Summary: everybody has been through it Review: This book has a lot of situations that people been through when they were younger. Some had it easier than others, but when it all came down they had to leave their nest and be on their own.The book Leaving Home has stories from people of all ages stating their situations about why they had to leave and what happened to them when they were own their own. The stories that I read was very interesting, it reminded me of the day I left my nest.
