Rating: Summary: Yuck yuck and more yuck Review: I read the prior reviews and was sold on the book. How disapointing once I got it! This book is for kids? Please, it is so lame and unatractive to children. It's black and white and boring and dull. Save your money!
Rating: Summary: Good book for veg kids Review: My daughter and I enjoyed this book, probably for different reasons. The companion cowsareveg website was enjoyable too. The book carries a serious message but isn't preachy, and I did like the artwork.

Rating: Summary: Message good, delivery bad Review: While I would NOT say the book is preachy (except maybe to those who aren't vegetarian), and it did have very good information for children (and adults, frankly) - I was not as happy with the WAY the information was PACKAGED. I think children like colorful pictures. There was NO color in this book, and while one publisher's comments described the illustrations as "delightful," I would be more inclined to describe them as drab. I was also surprised when I picked the book up. The cover had me expecting a good sized book, when it is actually an oversized cover with scant few pages between.I would still recommend this book, as there are so few with its message. I would just want the buyer to know what they're getting. Another reviewer recommended Herb the Vegetarian Dragon instead. I would suggest buying BOTH! What this book lacked in eye-candy, Herb had in abundance. But, this book is needed to counter the bland delivery of the message found in Herb.
