Summary: Great Book!
Review: Great book, really captured the essence of the show, even shows you how to make your room just as good as the ones on the show. All of the rooms look great, especially the Ch.8 Broadway and Rock and Roll rooms. A must buy for fans of the show.

Summary: Great Book
Review: Great book. Instead of making it just a stupid marketing gimic, they made it look really good, and it shows how you can make your own rooms. All of the rooms look great, especially the Chapter 8 Broadway and Rock and Roll rooms, those look incredible. This is a must buy for a Trading Spaces fan who wants to make their room just as good as the ones on the show.

Summary: Although my daughter loves the show...
Review: I do NOT recommend this book. The photos are too small and fuzzy, so you don't see the design details. I remember a lot of the rooms from watching the series, and the parts of the rooms that I liked the most are not even included. The layouts in this volume are very poor compared to those in the regular Trading Spaces books that correspond to the adult show.

The text is unreadable..."Garrett's current room is way out of bounds. Definitely lacking the alley-oop to make a slam dunk of his digs (pg 30)."

The other major problem I have with this book is that it's simply not useful to kids who have a serious interest in interior design. Page 2 says that "Stuff you will not need" to do the projects in the book are "lots of time, lots of money, lots of professionals," yet most of the major design elements in the book require the use of power tools and serious carpentry. Worse yet, practical instructions on how to acheive the look are not included.

If your kids are interested in decorating, there are a lot of better books out there with better photography and how-to directions.

Summary: A Waste of Money
Review: This book doesn't show you how to do any of the projects... Both of my kids (son and daughter) read through the book and thought how worthless. Even if you think something looks cool, it doesn't include instructions. The photo's do not show the whole room.

For example... looking at "Back in the Saddle" page 60-61, where's the bed? There isn't one. Where does she sleep? on the floor next to the horse posters and fake plastic hedges? But they made sure she has a picnic basket! And where's the plans for the stables? Even if they oncluded the plans, my teenagers could never build this stable (even if you could figure out where to put a bed)!

What a big disappointment. We wish we could return it and get our money back. You should try to check this one out at the library so you don't through away your money...it's not a keeper.
