Rating: 3 stars
Summary: Fun for little fingers
Review: My children love sliding open the pages to reveal the surprise hidden behind it. It's a great way for young children to learn characteristics of animals. For instance, it is the daddy penguin that sits on the eggs. Minor drawbacks are that the pages are sometimes hard to open or shut and that the illustrations do not seamlessly slide into each other.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Very Cute Book
Review: This book is a little flimsier than some of the other Sliding Surprise books. However, the content is just as enjoyable to my 13-month-old son, Brandon. He loves the page that says, "Whose daddy leads the pack?" "My daddy does, I'm a baby wolf!" When we get to the page that says "Whose daddy babysits all day long?" I always say, "Brandon's daddy!" first, then read "My daddy does, I'm a baby emu!" :o)

He seems to really like the pictures and words, and asks us to read this book a lot.
