Summary: I agree
Review: I couldn't agree more with what arlando909 had to say about the book. I recently bought it from Electronics Boutique, and I love it. Versus book's perfects guides are the only ones that I buy. I STRONGLY recomend it.

Summary: Indeed Perfect
Review: I've seen a lot of pokemon guide books, but this is the best yet. Even though it lacks a straight down items list, the pokedex is great. With this guide, I have captured every pokemon available in Silver Version. And with the Ho-Oh and Lugia, I am unstoppable. The guide shows all new basic form pokemon and tells you what page the pokemon is listed in in the pokedex. It has up to date detailed maps, trainer rosters for nearly every trainer, Techniques section, TM and HM's list, a calander events chart and types chart(advasntages and dis advantages)This is the guide i wuold reccomend to anyone who wants to beat the game.

Summary: Indeed, a perfect guide
Review: It's indeed a very perfect guide, full of lots of pictures and info. This is very handy, since you can see all the stats and attacks of the Pokémon. With the same basics as the Adventure guide, but with more things revealed, it's perfect.
The only thing we miss are the discribings of the Pokémon itselfs on pages where you will find the Pokémon for the first time. Also, the stats have to be more precisely. For the rest it's a great guide!!! I can't be missed by your collection!!!

Summary: Imperfect and frustrating
Review: This game guide is missing too much information and is too inaccurate to rate more than a 3.

1. There is no item list. Do you want to find a Metal Coat or an HP Up? How about the Silver Wing? A good guide book will provide an item list that tells you briefly where in the game it is found, what it does, and what pages you can go to for more information. This guide is almost useless in providing such essential help, requiring you to flip through the game walk-through section (nearly 100 pages) to spot the item that you're looking for. This very quickly becomes tiresome, and is incredibly frustrating.

2. Many hidden items are not identified. If you bought the guide to help you find hidden potions and other such items, you will be disappointed. Some are marked and some are not. They really didn't do their research here.

3. The maps are very poorly organized. The game walk through is often confusing, especially for children under 10 years old. I often had to flip back and forth through ten pages to find out how one map connected to another. Using the walk through should not require as much work as playing the game itself.

4. The advice on type match-ups is biased and misleading. In the game walk through the author(s) suggest the "best" type match ups for battling gym leaders and others. These are usually not the only good type match-ups and may lead some players to think that their party is not capable of winning the battle. In general, the author(s) biases concerning the best Pokemon severely detract from enjoying the game. It would be better if they simply stuck to general advice and let players find combinations that work for them.

5. The tables documenting new and changed moves in the Pokedex and in the Moves List are full of missing information. New moves are sometimes marked in the Pokedex and sometimes they are not. The same is true of changed moves. It's a very poorly compiled Pokedex.

6. For such a big guide, there is an enormous amount of essential information that is not there. Rather than including so much of their uninteresting opinions on which Pokemon is worth having in your party, the author(s) should have paid attention to providing important knowledge and explanations. How does a Pokemon's type interact with his attack and defense abilities (not clearly explained)? How does the power of a particular move equate to the actual number of hit points of damage done in battle? The list of unanswered and important questions is a long one.

Overall, the guide gets a 3 since it is usable. I'd rather have this guide than no guide at all, but the others available could not be worse and are probably more complete, accurate, and informative.

Summary: The Best Pokemon guide! Almost.....
Review: This guide is stunningly good as it offers fully detailed maps, explanations of what to do and where to go and has excellent artwork and graphics. The pokedex is really cool because it shows you all the pokemon, when they evolve and what level they learn attacks. It also gives you a chart of all the HMs & TMs and what they do and where to find them.

If you're going to buy gold/silver get this guide. IT BEATS THE REST!

Summary: The BEST video game strategy guides are from VERSUS BOOKS!
Review: We all know that a Pokemon Gold/Silver adventure guide was released from VERSUS BOOKS, but it wasn't complete, because it was missing a Pokedex. Well they promised a Perfect Guide and we got a PERFECT GUIDE from them. Eventhough the only real change is that it has a Pokedex and Items list. They do have bench info on every trainer this time unlike the Adventure guide where it missed a couple of trainers. The Pokedex is also the best Pokedex we've ever seen before (unless you own there Pokemon Yellow Guide). This is by far the BEST Pokemon Gold/Silver guide there is, ignore all the others VERSUS BOOKS has it covered for you.
