Summary: Interesting
Review: This book talks about Amber Billows, a girl who moved from Washington D.C to Hawaii just before Dec. 7 and Pearl Harbor. Her mom thought that it would be good for Amber's older brother has has Asthma. But Amber's family is always moving from one place to another because of her Dad's job. Also, Amber's mom is expecting a baby that would be due around May.
Amber gives lots of details about Pearl Harbor and Hawaii. But on Dec.7 she said she could hardly write because of the shock she was in. She tells how her family painted their windows black and of the Bomb Shelter they had in their living room. This book is a very interesting book with a lot of details.

Summary: DA should come up with new ideas for books
Review: This was a pretty good book, though short, and it's good that it's exposing kids to our history. But I think that Dear America should write more diaries about different eras instead of the same ones repeatedly. This story was set around the same time as My Secret War, and I think we got the point then. There are so many other great stories they could write about like the Cajuns, the Dutch in New York (formally New Amsterdam)and the 1920's speakeasies. Or even instead of writing about the childhoods of famous queens, what about the childhoods of the First Ladies?

Summary: Terrific!!
Review: This was an outstanding book. Before I read it I only knew a few thigs about Pearl Harbor, but now I know a little more. This book is about a girl, whose father is a reporter, and they always move. Well, know they have to move to Hawaii. While in Hawaii, Pearl Harbor is attacked. In the book you learn about everything that changed in Hawaii after the attack. I recommend this book to anyone that likes historical type books.
